LiDAR measures distance with a beam of light and builds a point cloud from it, so the robot sees the shape of its surroundings even in poor light. In the Robolupa catalogue, 65 models list this sensor in their specification. That is about a quarter of the 244 models for which we have any sensor data at all (27%), so do not read it as a complete map of the market. A missing LiDAR only means the data sheet does not mention one; advice on reading such sheets is in “How to Read a Robot Datasheet”.
The split by category shows where the sensor is nearly standard. Among the 16 quadrupeds in the catalogue, 11 have LiDAR, or 69%: the Unitree Go2 with a four-dimensional L2 (360° by 96°), the Unitree A2 with two industrial scanners at the front and rear, the DEEP Robotics X30, the DEEP Robotics Lynx, the ANYbotics ANYmal X and the new Unitree As2. The rest of the table is 18 humanoids (including the new DEEP Robotics DR02 prototype), 21 service robots (including Pudu, LG CLOi, Gausium and the Knightscope K5 with six LiDARs), 9 AMRs, 4 education platforms such as the TurtleBot3 Burger and TurtleBot 4, one robot vacuum, the Roborock Saros Z70, and one autonomous agricultural robot, the AgXeed AgBot T2 5 Series. For AMRs the number may be understated, since manufacturers often describe navigation in general terms without naming the sensor.
The exceptions and nuances are interesting. The Tesla Optimus Gen 3 relies on cameras and vision-based navigation, so it deliberately did not make this list. In four models LiDAR is an add-on or part of the base: an option on the PAL Robotics ARI (Autonomous Navigation pack), on the DEEP Robotics Lite3 and on the educational MangDang Mini Pupper 2 (STL-06P), and part of the mobile base of the Reachy 2. The Franka Mobile FR3 Duo carries two Sick NanoScan3 scanners, and the Serve Robotics Gen 3 a 360-degree Ouster REV7. Our supplier directory also includes Hesai, Ouster, SICK and Hokuyo; a Hesai XT16 appears in the Ultimate variant of the Unitree Go2-W.
Of the 65 models, 54 have the status "on sale", 6 are prototypes, 3 are pilots, one is on pre-order and one has been withdrawn (the Zebra Fetch CartConnect 100). The database confirms availability in Poland for 20 entries, mainly Unitree, DEEP Robotics and Pudu. A US dollar price is listed for 29 of the 65 models, from 649 USD (the MangDang Mini Pupper 2, with LiDAR as an option) to 123,000 USD (the Astribot S1). So LiDAR turns up both in an education kit priced like a smartphone and in machines costing a hundred thousand dollars. The manufacturers come from 16 countries, but 35 of the 65 models are Chinese. Ten of them come from Europe, among them the Franka Mobile FR3 Duo from Germany, the ANYbotics ANYmal D and ANYbotics ANYmal X from Switzerland, the PAL Robotics ARI from Spain and the new AgXeed AgBot T2 5 Series from the Netherlands.
Who is this roundup for? Buyers with dark halls, long corridors or outdoor terrain who want navigation independent of lighting. On the other hand, a sensor that scans the interior collects data about the layout of your site, which belongs in a risk assessment; see “Data Security: Robots with Cameras and the GDPR”. The categories with the largest share are quadruped robots and service robots.

Frequently asked questions
How many robots in the catalogue have LiDAR?
65 models out of 244 for which the catalogue holds sensor data (27%). Quadrupeds have the highest share: 11 of 16, or 69%. Models whose data sheet does not mention LiDAR may still have it, but the manufacturer does not say.
Does every humanoid robot need LiDAR?
No. In the catalogue 18 humanoids list it, but the Tesla Optimus Gen 3, for example, bases its navigation on cameras without LiDAR. The choice depends on the manufacturer's philosophy, cost and working environment.
What does "optional LiDAR" mean in a model entry?
That the sensor is extra equipment rather than standard. In the catalogue this applies to the DEEP Robotics Lite3, the MangDang Mini Pupper 2 and to the navigation pack of the PAL Robotics ARI. Before buying, make sure the offer includes the right configuration.
Which robots with LiDAR are available in Poland?
The database confirms availability in Poland for 20 of the 65 models, including several Unitree variants, three DEEP Robotics models, many Pudu service robots, the Roborock Saros Z70, the Geek+ P800 and the Gausium Phantas. Distributor details are on the individual model pages.
Where this list comes from
The collection is generated from the Robolupa catalogue by a fixed criterion described in the introduction and changes with the data. Prices in zloty come from Polish shops or are converted from foreign currencies (marked with an asterisk). How data are collected and checked is described on the page Methodology.
