The PM01 is a compact humanoid from China's EngineAI Robotics - 140 cm tall, 44.5 kg, with 24 degrees of freedom (6 in the legs, 5 in the arm) and a claimed speed of more than 2 m/s, though battery life is just 2 hours.
It is driven by an end-to-end neural network that handles both a mechanical and a more natural gait, and the extended version with 3D LiDAR uses an NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX computer instead of the basic 8-core CPU.
The price of $12,000 (about 46,500 PLN (≈ EUR 10,640) at the NBP rate of 1 October 2026) comes from a report by The Robot Report, not from an official price list at engineai.com.cn, where purchase is possible only on request.
Within the manufacturer's own portfolio, the PM01 is a much cheaper and smaller alternative to the 170 cm SE01 (32 DOF) or the industrial T800 ($40,500), at the cost of lower height and shorter arm reach. Its strength is an aggressively low entry price for a full-fledged humanoid with 24 degrees of freedom; its weaknesses are the absence of public payload data and short battery life.
The manufacturer does not confirm availability in Poland. The model is aimed at schools, universities and companies looking for an inexpensive research and education platform, not at large-scale industrial deployments.

Running and deployment costs
Purchase price: about $12,000, or 46,500 PLN (≈ EUR 10,640) at the 3.8762 rate of October 1, 2026. The amount comes from The Robot Report; at engineai.com.cn purchase is possible only on request, with no public price list.
Additional costs, as rough estimates: shipping and customs duty from China (a few percent of the value), 23% VAT, a spare battery (a 10,000 mAh pack, 54.6 V, which by our calculation is about 546 Wh, with a charge time of roughly 2 hours), and a training area with a soft floor. It is wise to set aside about 10-15% of the price.
Operation: energy is practically irrelevant. The real cost is people's time: roughly a few weeks to get familiar with the software, then regular work by a doctoral student or engineer.
Funding: for universities, grants and research programs.

Applications
What it's for
The EngineAI PM01 is a humanoid that shows how cheaply you can now enter the world of bipedal robots with a full set of joints. It stands 140 cm tall, weighs 44.5 kg and has 24 degrees of freedom (DOF): 6 in each leg and 5 in each arm, and waist rotation exceeds 300 degrees. Arm span is 1,440 mm and peak joint torque is 164 Nm. The price, according to The Robot Report, is around $12,000.
A school or technical university. In such a lab, mobile robotics classes do not end at wheels and distance sensors: students can run the neural network that controls the gait and switch the robot between a mechanical mode and a more natural one. The PM01 supports both gait modes and is driven by an end-to-end neural network.
A research laboratory. The extended version has an NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX 16G computer and a 3D LiDAR in the navigation variant, while the basic one has an 8-core CPU. Two stereo cameras (in the head and in the hip) provide vision data for experiments in perception and obstacle avoidance. It is a sensible kit for bachelor's, master's and doctoral projects.
Demos and events. The manufacturer mentions commercial uses alongside educational ones. A compact humanoid that moves, greets guests and impresses at a trade-show booth is more affordable than larger machines. Be prepared, though, for a battery life of only 2 hours.
What the PM01 does not do: public payload data is missing, the claimed speed is more than 2 m/s, and this is a research and education platform, not a robot for a factory shift. For heavy work the manufacturer has another model, the T800.
Typical applications
Who it's for
Worth considering for: universities and technical schools that want their own compact humanoid at a price of around 44,000 PLN (≈ EUR 10,060). Research teams that need hardware for experiments with neural networks controlling gait. Robotics startups testing software ideas before investing in a larger machine.
Probably not for: companies with a specific production task. The lack of payload data, the 2 hours of operation and its status as an education platform rule out work on the shop floor. It is also a poor choice for anyone who needs Polish servicing: the manufacturer does not confirm availability in Poland, and purchase is on request.
Be careful with the price. The $12,000 comes from a report by The Robot Report, not from an official price list. Before you plan a budget, ask the manufacturer for a written quotation that itemizes the computer editions and accessories.
Deployments
The manufacturer does not confirm PM01 availability in the country, and EngineAI's commercial presence in Poland has not been established.
Worldwide, we found no described, named customers of the PM01. The uses the sources give are research and education. What is publicly documented are the brand's showpieces: the SE01 flip in February 2025 and the URKL league announced in July 2026. Those are image campaigns, not deployments.

Comparison
EngineAI SE01 is the big brother from the same company: 170 cm, 55 kg, 32 DOF, with a gait advertised as natural. It has no stated price or payload, so it is more of an option for those who want a bigger machine and are ready to negotiate.
Unitree G1 (132 cm, 35 kg, 23 DOF, about 52,300 PLN (≈ EUR 11,960), 2 kg payload) is only slightly more expensive than the PM01, but counts among the best-documented humanoids in this class. If community and learning materials matter, it is the natural competitor.
Booster K1 (95 cm, 19.5 kg, 22 DOF, about 48,500 PLN (≈ EUR 11,090)) is lighter and smaller, more "educational", with stated operating times for its editions. Unitree R1 (123 cm, 29 kg, 26 DOF, about 19,000 PLN (≈ EUR 4,350)) is a much cheaper option for budgets the PM01 does not fit. At the far end of the price scale stands the EngineAI T800, already industrial, but more than three times as expensive.

History
EngineAI, a company from Shenzhen, showed the PM01 in 2024 and began global sales of the PM01 and SE01 in December 2024. In February 2025 the SE01 humanoid performed a demonstration front flip, one of the brand's most talked-about showpieces.
January 2026 brought the launch of the T800 at CES 2026, a flagship high-torque humanoid, and in June 2026 the T800 entered production at a new factory in Shenzhen, at a pace of one unit about every 15 minutes. In July 2026 the company announced a robot combat league, the Ultimate Robot Knockout Legend (URKL), with a prize pool of $1.4 million.
A note on sources: EngineAI appears with two different sets of figures. One speaks of a seed round of around $4.5 million in late 2024, the other of $200 million in funding at a valuation of $1.5 billion and an IPO filing on the Hong Kong stock exchange in April 2026. They are probably the same company at different stages, but we have no confirmation, so treat the figures with caution.
