EngineAI Robotics of Shenzhen, launched in 2024, built its position on low-cost educational humanoids, the PM01 and SE01, complemented by the pricier T800 shown at CES 2026. According to The Robot Report, the company raised at least USD 4.5 million in a seed round in late 2024, a modest sum next to the billion-dollar rounds of rivals in this segment such as Figure AI or Fourier Intelligence.
The main model covered here is the PM01, in the educational humanoid category. Note that under an almost identical name and the same website (engineai-robotics), different funding figures and the SE01/T800 models appear; it may be the same company described at different stages of development, so the funding figures should be treated as indicative. There is no commercial presence in Poland at all.
It is worth verifying this before comparing prices and specifications of the two models.
History and development
EngineAI Robotics of Shenzhen is one of those companies that in a short time managed to show more than its age would suggest. The company was founded in 2024. As early as December 2024 it began global sales of the low-cost PM01 and SE01 humanoids, and in February 2025 the SE01 performed a demonstration front flip, the kind of stunt that impresses on video and spreads online faster than any spec sheet. In January 2026 at CES the company globally introduced the T800, a flagship high-torque humanoid. In July 2026 it announced a robot fighting league, the Ultimate Robot Knockout Legend (URKL), with a USD 1.4 million prize pool. This path, from a cheap robot for education, through a spectacular acrobatic demo, to a tournament, looks like a deliberate strategy for building recognition. We must honestly note that the sources show different funding data under an almost identical name and the same website, so we rely only on what is recorded as events. More about how such robots work at all is explained in “How Does a Humanoid Robot Work” (how a humanoid robot works).
Portfolio
The only model we describe in detail is EngineAI PM01. It is a humanoid 140 cm tall with 24 degrees of freedom (DOF), priced at around USD 12,000 (about PLN 46,500 (≈ EUR 10,660 at NBP rate 4.3641 of 21 October 2026)), intended for education and research. The manufacturer does not state a payload, and battery life is about two hours: enough for a lesson or a demonstration, too little for a work shift. Alongside the PM01, the company's announcements also mention the SE01 and the flagship T800. The PM01's price puts it among the cheaper humanoids: closer to Unitree R1 and Booster T1 than to large designs like Unitree H2. To understand what 24 DOF means, see “Degrees of Freedom (DOF) in Humanoid Robots”; buying one also requires working out costs, which “Humanoid Robot TCO: How to Calculate Total Cost” (total cost of ownership of a humanoid) helps with. A roundup of models in this class is in humanoid robots. For universities one more thing counts: access to the SDK and documentation, and we found no such data in the sources, so ask the manufacturer directly before ordering. Questions about spare parts, warranty and training should be asked at the very start, because a humanoid without support quickly turns into an expensive ornament.
Market position
EngineAI's funding is ambiguous in the sources. The Robot Report reported at least USD 4.5 million in a seed round in late 2024, a modest sum next to the billion-dollar rounds of competitors such as Figure AI or Fourier Intelligence. At the same time, different data exists under an almost identical name, so we treat the figure as indicative. We do not know customer names or the number of robots delivered, so we do not guess the scale. We do know the direction: the company bets on price and spectacle, as shown by the cheap PM01, the demonstration flip and the URKL tournament. Competing with it on this field are Unitree Robotics, Booster Robotics and AgiBot, Chinese players who fight for customers with lower prices and a rapid pace of launches. We compare their offerings in “Chinese Humanoid Robots”. EngineAI's market strength therefore lies for now in media exposure, not in confirmed deployments; that conclusion comes from the absence of data, not an accusation.
Presence in Poland
In Poland, EngineAI has no commercial presence: no distributor, no Polish branch, no recorded deployments. We mark the PM01 as not available locally. A university or laboratory that wanted to buy it for robotics classes would have to purchase directly from China, with full responsibility for customs clearance, warranty and service. Before someone decides on such a step, it is worth looking at offers where support is closer, which the text “Educational Robots for Schools and Universities” and the map of domestic players in “Polish Robotics Companies” help with. Wider usage scenarios are described in the university (university) and laboratories (laboratory) sections.
Editorial verdict
EngineAI is a cheap and spectacular introduction to humanoids, but with limited knowledge about the company and zero support in Poland. The PM01 at around USD 12,000 makes sense for a lab that wants a humanoid on the bench and accepts two hours of runtime. We would not buy it for a factory: we do not know its payload. Treat it as a first step in learning, not a production investment. Every promise from the brand is worth checking against sources.
