CloudMinds XR-1, also known as Cloud Ginger, is a wheeled humanoid robot first shown at MWC in Barcelona in 2019 (a later showing with 5G connectivity and fleet scaling took place in October 2019 at MWC Los Angeles). It has 34 actuators, weighs 62 kg, stands 158 cm tall and moves at up to 1.01 m/s on a three-wheeled, self-balancing base.
Perception, speech and motion control are handled by the cloud AI platform HARIX, which combines data from 2D/3D cameras, LiDAR, ultrasonic sensors, an IMU and microphones. The robot can open doors, grasp objects and even thread a needle. That puts it in a similar service niche to SoftBank's Pepper or UBTech's Cruzr, though the XR-1 aims higher on manipulation precision.
The problem is that there is no confirmed information from the manufacturer, so the current production status in 2026 remains uncertain: the model may have been withdrawn, or may now be sold only in China. The manufacturer does not state a price. The robot is neither present nor distributed in Poland.

Purchase: the manufacturer does not state a price for the XR-1, and there is no reliable price list, so we do not give a figure. For comparison, other service robots in the catalog: Mirokaï, about 30,000 USD; LG CLOi GuideBot, 39,990 USD; Pudu BellaBot, about 56,205 PLN (≈ EUR 12,880 at NBP rate 4.3641 of 21 October 2026). Running costs would be tied to the cloud: a HARIX platform subscription and 5G or stable Wi-Fi are items the manufacturer does not disclose. As an estimate, service of the 34 actuators and sensors would add to this, and repair outside China could be difficult given the uncertain production status; that is our risk assessment, not datasheet data. Training: configuring and “teaching” services in the cloud would require work with the vendor; as an estimate, from a few days to a few weeks. A way of calculating robot costs is suggested in “How Much Does a Humanoid Robot Cost in 2026”.

CloudMinds XR-1, also known as Cloud Ginger, is a wheeled humanoid robot that debuted at MWC in Barcelona in 2019. It stands 158 cm tall, weighs 62 kg, has 34 actuators and moves at up to 1.01 m/s on a three-wheeled, self-balancing base. It has wheels instead of legs, so it is meant for indoor spaces with smooth floors: a reception desk, a store, an office, a hotel lobby. The real curiosity is the “brain in the cloud”: perception, speech and motion control run on the HARIX platform, and the robot relies on 5G connectivity. Data flows in from 2D and 3D cameras, LiDAR, ultrasonic sensors, an IMU, force sensors and microphones. The result? The XR-1 can open a door, grasp an object and even thread a needle, a demonstration meant to prove its manipulation precision. The manufacturer points to three segments: hospitality, retail and offices. These are declared intended uses, not confirmed deployments. The biggest unknown is its status. It cannot be confirmed whether the XR-1 is still in production in 2026; it may have been withdrawn, or may now be sold only in China. That is why it appears in the catalog as a pilot rather than a series product. A cloud-based design also carries risks: dependence on connectivity and the handling of camera data, which we discuss in “Data Security: Robots with Cameras and the GDPR”. Service applications are described in “Hotel Robots: Cleaning, Delivery and Reception”, and more broadly in “Service Robots in Restaurants and Hotels”.
Best suited to: technology museums, research centers and companies that want to study what a service robot with a cloud “brain” and advanced manipulation looks like, if they can manage to obtain a unit. It has value as a historical object for collectors and robotics educators.
Who it is not for: a hotel, store or office looking for a robot ready to deploy tomorrow. The production status is uncertain, no price is given, and in Poland the robot is neither present nor distributed. For service tasks such as delivering dishes or guiding visitors, specialized models with Polish sellers are available today, for example Pudu BellaBot or LG CLOi GuideBot. Also see retail and restaurants.
We have no confirmed XR-1 deployments, either worldwide or in Poland. All that is known are trade-show demonstrations from 2019: MWC in Barcelona and MWC in Los Angeles. The robot is neither present nor distributed here. In the service category there are more deployments with Polish points of sale: the Pudu BellaBot (Pudu BellaBot) is offered by several sellers, and an overview of the whole group is in service robots. If you are interested in real applications in restaurants and hotels, start with the article “Service Robots in Restaurants and Hotels”. Without public references, it is hard to judge how the robot performed outside the trade-show stage.
Mirokaï: a French social robot on a balancing ball (123 cm, about 29 kg, 26 DOF), listed in the catalog at about 30,000 USD; a similar niche of contact with people, though without a cloud 5G platform.
UBTech Walker S2: a humanoid with 52 DOF and a 15 kg payload with autonomous battery swapping in 3 minutes; a robot for the applications where the XR-1 would not cope. Manufacturer: UBTECH Robotics, also known for the Cruzr, the XR-1's competitor in services.
LG CLOi GuideBot: a guide robot with two 27-inch screens, listed at 39,990 USD, up to 5 hours of operation. Choose it when information matters more than manipulation.
Pudu BellaBot: a serving robot with a 40 kg payload for about 56,205 PLN (≈ EUR 12,880), available in Poland from several sellers; the most practical choice for a restaurant.

The XR-1 was presented in 2019 at MWC in Barcelona. In October 2019 at MWC in Los Angeles, CloudMinds showed another appearance of the robot, with 5G connectivity and fleet scalability, meaning the management of many units from the cloud. Behind the robot stands the Chinese company CloudMinds, although our sources lack its founding date and funding data.
The XR-1 was a response to the then wave of service robots, Pepper from SoftBank Robotics or the Cruzr from UBTech. The context of that wave is described in “Robotics Glossary: 65 Terms with Polish Equivalents”. After 2019 we have no confirmed market events concerning the model.
Model unveiled
It opens doors, grasps objects and performs precise manipulation thanks to the cloud AI platform HARIX, which combines cameras, LiDAR and force sensors.
That cannot be confirmed: the 2026 status remains uncertain.
No; there is no information about distribution in Poland.
