Polish robotics
Poland's Robotics Map: Companies, Startups, Labs
Poland's robotics map
Polish robotics is three communities that rarely appear together in one overview: startups and robot makers, universities and research institutes, and integrators who deploy robots in factories. Below we go through them in turn. The list is not complete: it covers organisations for which a public, citable source exists, so some companies known from the media are missing. If something is not here, write to the editorial team (see Contact).
Looking for a deployment contractor? Start with the directory of integrators and the guide on choosing a partner. Want to see where robots already work? See the section Robots in Poland. Planning an investment and counting costs? Check funding and the robotization tax relief. And if you want to start a career in the industry, we have a Careers section.
Startups and robot makers from Poland
Among companies with documented robotics activity or activity directly adjacent to it:
- Clone Robotics: musculoskeletal androids with synthetic muscles, tendons and bones (including the Clone Hand and the full-body android); operations split between Wrocław and the US (a second office in Mountain View). Profile: Clone Robotics.
- MAB Robotics (Poznań): quadruped robot platforms (the Honey Badger series) and motion-control components (motor drivers, actuators, encoders); ISO 9001:2015 certified; partners include Ascento, Fraunhofer IPA, PIAP and TU Darmstadt. Profile: MAB Robotics Sp. z o.o., model: MAB Robotics Honey Badger 4.0.
- Nomagic (Warsaw): "Physical AI" for warehouse automation (Pick, Pack, Sort, Spot, Shoebox Picker) with its own "AI Brain"; customers include ASOS, Zalando and Fiege.
- AIUT (Gliwice): more than 700 engineers, AFORMIC-brand autonomous mobile robots, ASRS systems, production-line automation.
- Etisoft (Gliwice/Kraków): an industrial automation and AutoID integrator serving about 1,200 corporate customers in 40 countries; its offer includes AGV/AMR mobile robots.
- Łukasiewicz Research Network, PIAP (Warsaw): a research institute that develops specialized mobile robots (PIAP PATROL, GRYF, HUNTeR, IBIS) for security and bomb disposal.
- KP Labs (Gliwice): space technologies and onboard artificial intelligence for small satellites; a robotics-adjacent company (edge AI and hardware), not a robot maker in the strict sense.
- Scanway S.A. (Wrocław, Warsaw Stock Exchange: SCW): optical instruments for satellites and machine-vision quality-control systems; listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange since March 2026.
- Bioseco: a vision system for detecting and deterring birds at wind farms and airports; a robotics-adjacent company (computer vision).
The wider context — why Polish companies rarely build humanoids and where their strength lies — is described in the article “Polish Robotics Companies”. For companies looking for suppliers of parts, the Robot components section is useful.
Research centers and universities
Robotics and automation are pursued by, among others:
- Łukasiewicz Research Network, PIAP (Warsaw): mobile robotics, industrial automation, special robots for defense and security.
- Warsaw University of Technology, Institute of Automatic Control and Robotics (Faculty of Mechatronics).
- AGH University of Krakow, Department of Automatic Control and Robotics (Faculty of EAIiIB), master's program with 4 specializations.
- Wrocław University of Science and Technology, Department of Cybernetics and Robotics.
- Poznań University of Technology, Faculty of Automatic Control, Robotics and Electrical Engineering.
- Silesian University of Technology (Gliwice), Faculty of Automatic Control, Electronics and Computer Science.
- Gdańsk University of Technology, Lublin University of Technology, Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń: robotics in their teaching and research offer; their websites give the details of institutes and platforms.
- Institute of Computer Science of the Polish Academy of Sciences (IPI PAN): mainly theoretical computer science and artificial intelligence, without a clear hardware-robotics profile.
- IPPT PAN: a Polish Academy of Sciences institute with departments of mechanics, biomechanics and robotics.
Events and competitions: the European Rover Challenge (Kraków; 2026 edition: 4-6 September, 124 teams from 29 countries, about 3,756 participants, won by EPFL Xplore) is fully documented. Robotic Arena takes place in Wrocław; Robomaticon and RoboCup Polska are also on the competition calendar. Anyone learning robotics will find practical tips in the guide “How to Start Learning Robotics in Poland” and a survey of hardware for schools and universities in “Educational Robots for Schools and Universities”.
Integrators and technology suppliers
Examples of companies acting as integrators or local representatives of robot makers:
| Company | Base | Profile |
|---|---|---|
| ASTOR | Kraków | 35 years on the market, serves more than 9,000 companies, a network of 90+ partners and 500 registered integrators; represents Kawasaki Robotics, EPSON, AGILOX |
| AIUT | Gliwice | More than 700 engineers; AFORMIC mobile robots, ASRS systems, production-line automation |
| WObit E.K. J. Konieczny | Pniewy | More than 34 years on the market; maker of MOBOT AMR/AGV mobile robots, Cartesian robots, sensors and drives |
| KUKA Polska | n/a | Polish representative of KUKA; industrial robots, AMR, KUKA College |
| FANUC Polska | n/a | Polish branch of FANUC; industrial robots, cobots, CNC, FANUC Academy |
| Universal Robots | Served from the CEE office in Prague | e-Series, UR and g cobots, more than 100,000 units shipped worldwide |
| Comau | Turin (Italy) | Industrial and collaborative robots, AMR, exoskeletons |
The zrobotyzowany.pl portal is sometimes wrongly listed as an integrator; it is an industry news portal, not an automation company. A fuller list of companies and the criteria for choosing a partner are in the directory of integrators; you can compare manufacturers' offers in the cobot ranking and check sellers in the directory of shops.
