Although it is sometimes listed among humanoid robots, RIVR ONE is not one. It is a four-legged, wheeled-legged robot from the same Swiss team (formerly Swiss-Mile, an ETH Zurich spin-off) that created the Milo model. We include it here only for completeness of the last-mile logistics segment, not as an alternative to two-legged humanoids.
RIVR ONE was tested in a Swiss Post pilot in Regensdorf, where it combined driving on wheels over flat ground with the use of its legs at curbs and stairs. In March 2026 Amazon acquired RIVR, which, as with Milo, closes the door on commercial purchase of this robot by outside companies. The manufacturer has not disclosed weight, height or range on a single charge.
Compared with classic wheeled AMRs, such as MiR warehouse robots, RIVR ONE's advantage is the ability to overcome vertical obstacles, crucial for delivery to the door rather than just between warehouse shelves. The drawback is the lack of any commercial offer: the project stayed at the pilot stage and moved into Amazon's internal structure. It is not available in Poland.
This information is mainly of interest to those following the development of delivery robotics in Europe.

Running and deployment costs
The price of RIVR ONE is unknown: there is no commercial offer and no sales to third parties. As a rough estimate, based on other quadrupeds in our catalog, Unitree B2-W costs USD 88.9-97.6 thousand from resellers, so a design of this class is hundreds of thousands of zlotys of hardware, not a gadget. The real cost of a delivery robot is not the hardware but the system: charging stations, remote supervision, insurance, integration with the sorting center, city permits. Training covers fleet supervisors, not couriers. For a Polish company, more important than the price of ONE is whether automated deliveries fit into Poland's robotization tax relief (ulga na robotyzację); the rules are in “Poland's Robotization Tax Relief”, and life-cycle costing is in “Humanoid Robot TCO: How to Calculate Total Cost”.

Applications
What it's for
RIVR ONE is a wheeled-legged robot from the Swiss RIVR team (formerly Swiss-Mile, an ETH Zurich spin-off) that rolls on wheels over flat ground and uses its legs at curbs and stairs. It is worth clarifying right away: it is sometimes listed among humanoid robots, but it is not one; it is a four-legged delivery robot. We include it for completeness of the last-mile logistics segment. There is one well-defined use: parcel delivery on the final stretch of the route. The robot was tested in a Swiss Post pilot in Regensdorf, equipped with LiDAR, optical cameras and GPS, with a 30 kg payload. Its edge over a classic wheeled robot lies in vertical obstacles: stairs at the door, high curbs, entrances with a landing. What it will not do: move a pallet or heavy goods, which is the job of warehouse AMRs such as MiR250. Nor is it a robot for working inside a store or hall. After Amazon acquired RIVR in March 2026 it is not on sale, so the use scenarios are purely a matter of market observation.
Typical applications
Who it's for
Yes: logistics analysts, courier companies and postal operators evaluating urban delivery technologies; mobile robotics researchers. Yes: readers who want to understand the difference between a wheeled and a wheeled-legged robot.
No: buyers, since the robot is not available to third parties. No: Polish companies looking for a delivery robot today; look instead at Starship Delivery Robot (though it is not yet available in Poland) or the mobile robots in mobile robots. No: anyone expecting a humanoid; this is a quadruped, and for a full overview of humanoids see “How Does a Humanoid Robot Work”.
Deployments
RIVR ONE is not at work in Poland. Abroad, there is the pilot with Swiss Post in Regensdorf; it is the only documented use we know of, and it is a test. In the delivery-robot category, keep an eye on Starship Delivery Robot, which has completed more than 10 million deliveries, and on the RIVR Milo pilot with Evri. More on mobile applications in Poland is in warehouses and retail.
Comparison
RIVR Milo is the older sibling from the same family: built on the Unitree B2, piloted with Evri in Barnsley. The direction is identical, the hardware more "quadruped".
Starship Delivery Robot is a proven sidewalk robot: more than 10 million deliveries in 300+ cities, up to 18 hours of operation; it cannot climb stairs.
Unitree B2-W is a commercial wheel-leg hybrid with a payload of up to 120 kg, available from resellers; it is the only route if you want to buy a similar design.
Ghost Robotics Vision 60 is a military quadruped, IP67; not for parcels, but a good example of what field-grade hardware in this segment looks like.

History
RIVR is the former Swiss-Mile, an ETH Zurich spin-off from Zurich (2023) that raised roughly USD 22 million. ONE was tested in a Swiss Post pilot in Regensdorf. In March 2026 Amazon acquired the company, which closed the door on commercial purchase of the robot by third parties. There is no launch date for ONE and no exact generations on record, so we do not give them from memory. The shared story of both robots is told in RIVR Milo, and the company profile is at RIVR.

Frequently asked questions
Is the RIVR ONE available in Poland?
Not off the shelf. The RIVR ONE runs in pilot programmes with selected customers, and there is no official seller in Poland.
Is RIVR ONE a humanoid robot?
No. It is a four-legged, wheeled-legged robot, included here only for completeness of the last-mile delivery segment.
Where was RIVR ONE tested?
In a pilot with Swiss Post in the town of Regensdorf.
Can you buy RIVR ONE?
No. Since Amazon acquired RIVR in March 2026, the robot serves only internal logistics purposes.
