Guide

Quadruped robots, also called quadrupeds, mimic the body of a dog or other four-legged animals, which gives them an exceptional ability to move over uneven, difficult terrain — stairs, rubble, mud or steep slopes — where traditional wheeled robots (AMRs) cannot cope. That has made them one of the most practical categories of mobile robotics outside the laboratory.

On this page you will find both consumer and hobbyist models, such as the Unitree Go2, popular in Poland, and industrial-grade platforms meant for autonomous facility inspection — Boston Dynamics Spot, the Unitree B2 and Deep Robotics models. For each we give the payload, top speed, battery life, the ingress protection (IP) rating that matters for outdoor work, and the price if it is publicly available.

The segment splits clearly into two price groups: cheap consumer models bought for fun, video footage or simple programming experiments, and pricier industrial platforms certified for harsh environmental conditions and equipped with thermal imaging modules, gas sensors or manipulator arms. Filter the table below by price and intended use to find the model that fits your application.

How to choose a quadruped robot

The most important question is: industrial inspection, or consumer and research use? Industrial models have an IP rating suited to outdoor work and dusty halls, longer battery life and a ready-made API for integration with reporting systems — and they cost correspondingly more. Consumer models are cheaper, but come with no guarantee of continuous operation in harsh conditions.

Check the payload if you plan to mount extra sensors, thermal cameras or a manipulator arm — not every model can carry them without losing gait stability. Pay attention as well to the real, rather than declared, run time on a single charge, and to whether a docking station for autonomous charging is available if the robot is to work without constant operator supervision.

For industrial models, check the availability of local technical support and training — operating an inspection robot takes different skills than operating a robotic arm, and manufacturers rarely have an extensive service network in Poland. Finally, compare the platform you are considering with its rivals in our comparison tool before you make a purchase decision.

Buying guide

Buying guide: Quadruped robots in Poland

The quadruped robot market in 2026, in numbers

We track 13 entries in the quadruped robot category, from 7 manufacturers. It is a small but sharply divided category: 12 entries have the status “on sale”, and one — the Polish Honey Badger — is marked as withdrawn, although the manufacturer still takes enquiries. In Poland, 9 entries are available: five from Unitree Robotics, three from DEEP Robotics and one from the Polish company MAB Robotics Sp. z o.o.. You can buy them at x-kom, Botland, Drony.net, deltarobots.com and Komputronik, among others.

11 entries have a price with a documented source. Converted into zlotys, the manufacturer’s price list starts at about PLN 6,200 (≈ EUR 1,420) for the Unitree Go2 and reaches about PLN 581,000 (≈ EUR 132,900) for the specialist Ghost Robotics Vision 60; the median is about PLN 252,000 (≈ EUR 57,640), which means two clearly different price shelves. Battery runtime is given for 11 entries: from 1.5 to 5 hours, with a median of 2 hours. For comparison, Polish shops price the Go2 in the Air version at PLN 9,900–12,000 (≈ EUR 2,260–2,740).

The market is driven by Unitree Robotics, the largest quadruped maker by number of units sold. In the industrial segment, Boston Dynamics with Spot and ANYbotics with ANYmal dominate. You will find an overview of applications in the piece “Quadruped Robots: Uses in Inspection, Security and Industry”.

Types of quadruped robots

The first class is consumer and educational models: the Unitree Go2 (15 kg, 12 degrees of freedom, 8 kg payload), the DEEP Robotics Lite3 (12 kg, ROS2, aimed at learning robot programming) and the Xiaomi CyberDog 2, which we did not find in Polish shops. They are enough for learning, presentations and simple experiments. The second class is mid-sized platforms designed for work: the Boston Dynamics Spot (33.8 kg, 14 kg payload) and the Unitree A2 (42 kg, 25 kg payload, up to 5 hours of runtime).

The third class is heavy industrial designs, such as the Unitree B2 (60 kg, 40 kg payload while walking) and the DEEP Robotics X30. Wheeled-legged hybrids count separately, for example the DEEP Robotics Lynx (15 kg payload, up to 5 m/s) and the Unitree Go2-W, which roll on wheels on smooth floors and use their legs to get over obstacles. The fourth group is special-purpose robots, such as the Ghost Robotics Vision 60 and the Polish MAB Robotics Honey Badger 4.0 (waterproof, IP67, for inspecting sewers and ducts). You will find the wider background on wheeled mobile robots in the mobile robots section.

What to look for when buying

1. Use: play, learning or inspection

This decides the class of model. The consumer Go2 will do for a school, a party and code experiments; for everyday inspection of installations you need a robot with environmental protection, longer runtime and manufacturer support. Do not buy a PLN 300,000 (≈ EUR 68,620) platform for videos, or a toy for patrolling a plant. The applications are described in the sections “Robots in Security and Inspection: Quadrupeds on Patrol”, construction sites and universities.

2. Payload and add-on modules

Payload determines which sensors you can mount: a thermal camera, a gas sensor, a LiDAR, sometimes an arm. The Unitree Go2 can carry 8 kg, the Boston Dynamics Spot 14 kg, the Unitree B2 40 kg while walking. Extra mass shifts the center of gravity and shortens runtime, so check whether the stated payload applies to walking or only to standing. For spatial sensors, look at the availability of modules, for example scanners from Hesai and Ouster.

3. Runtime and charging

The median in the category is only 2 hours; the Boston Dynamics Spot states 1.5 hours, and the Unitree A2 and Unitree B2 up to 5 hours. For a robot without supervision, a docking station and quick battery swapping matter too, because a patrol every few hours without them needs an operator. Work out this parameter against a real scenario, not the figure in the brochure.

4. Terrain, speed and ingress protection

The main advantage of quadrupeds over wheeled robots is stairs, rubble, mud and uneven ground. Check the real limits, though: step height, slope, resistance to water and dust. The IP rating matters outdoors and in dusty halls; the MAB Robotics Honey Badger 4.0 has IP67, as does the flagship B2. Top speed rarely decides usefulness — the Boston Dynamics Spot moves at about 1.6 m/s and is still the benchmark for inspection.

5. Software, SDK and autonomy

Consumer versions come with a simple app, research versions with open access to control. The DEEP Robotics Lite3 offers a ROS2 environment, and in research variants you will find an onboard computer of the NVIDIA Jetson class. For inspection you need autonomous tasks: patrolling a route, returning to the station and reporting readings. Ask whether the robot performs them from its built-in software or needs your own integration, and whether the version you are ordering gives API access at all.

6. Service and availability in Poland

In the consumer segment, support is simple: a VAT invoice, a warranty and Polish sellers. In the industrial one the offer is thin — you can buy the Unitree B2 in shops, but Spot and ANYmal are quoted on request, without a public price list. The Polish MAB Robotics Honey Badger 4.0 is sold directly by the manufacturer, with an individual offer and support in Polish. Ask about parts delivery time and operator training; see also “Boston Dynamics Spot: Price, Uses and Availability in Poland”.

7. Privacy and regulation

A robot with cameras and microphones collects data, and the plant where it works is responsible for protecting it. Patrolling in a public space or on a site with third parties requires rules on recording; the starting point is “Data Security: Robots with Cameras and the GDPR”. Add to that a risk assessment: a robot weighing several dozen kilograms can fall over or catch on equipment.

Prices by class

We distinguish the manufacturer’s price, converted into zlotys, from prices in Polish shops. Discrepancies can be large, because the same model comes in many variants — the Air, Pro and EDU versions can be tens of thousands of zlotys apart.

Up to about PLN 25,000 (≈ EUR 5,720). The Unitree Go2 in the Air version costs PLN 9,900–12,000 (≈ EUR 2,260–2,740) in Polish shops and PLN 21,400 (≈ EUR 4,900) in the Pro version. The DEEP Robotics Lite3 is about PLN 19,900 (≈ EUR 4,550) in a Polish shop. The Xiaomi CyberDog 2 costs about USD 1,800 from the manufacturer (about PLN 6,980 (≈ EUR 1,600)) but has no Polish seller.

PLN 25,000–200,000 (≈ EUR 5,720–45,750). The Unitree A2 costs PLN 195,000 (≈ EUR 44,610) at x-kom (A2 Pro variant, as of 28 September 2026), and the DEEP Robotics Lynx at about PLN 155,000 (≈ EUR 35,460). The spread comes from configuration; ask for the exact equipment set.

Above PLN 200,000 (≈ EUR 45,750). The DEEP Robotics X30 (about PLN 280,000 (≈ EUR 64,050)), the Unitree B2 (PLN 270,000–299,000 (≈ EUR 61,760–68,400)) and the Unitree B2-W (PLN 349,000 (≈ EUR 79,830)) have a shop price. The price of the Boston Dynamics Spot is not public: a 2020 source gave USD 74,500 (about PLN 288,800 (≈ EUR 66,060)), but that is an indicative value, and sales are on request. The Ghost Robotics Vision 60 is about PLN 581,000 (≈ EUR 132,900) by list price, and for the ANYbotics ANYmal D the manufacturer does not state a price.

Subsidies and financing in Poland

For inspection robots, the robotization tax relief by itself is not a given: it covers factory-new industrial robots that meet the statutory definition, and a robot patrolling a facility may not. Before you count on it, get a tax adviser’s opinion. Under current law, 2026 is the last year in which it can be used; the announcement of an extension in August 2026 is not yet law. Details: “Poland's Robotization Tax Relief”.

A more realistic path can be the FENG programs run by PARP (including the SMART Pathway), NCBR grants for research and development projects, and the KPO instruments for digitalization and robotization of enterprises. Call dates and amounts change quickly, so we give only the sources. Universities and schools usually buy quadrupeds from teaching funds and grants; with smaller budgets, also consider the educational robots category. If the robot is to appear at only one event, work out the rental in the event section.

The most common buyer mistakes

The first mistake is buying a consumer robot for an industrial task: a cheap model has no guarantee of working in harsh conditions, and the manufacturer does not promise continuous operation. The second is the reverse — spending on an industrial platform for learning, of which you use a fraction of the capability. The third is comparing prices without the variant: Air, Pro and EDU are different devices.

The fourth mistake is trusting the stated runtime and payload without a trial with your own load, on your own route. The fifth is overlooking the docking station, training and service, which for an unattended patrol determine the costs. The sixth is skipping an assessment of privacy and safety. The seventh is choosing a quadruped where the route is smooth: then a cheaper, faster wheeled robot from the specialist robots category or an AMR is enough, and a quadruped only makes sense with stairs and uneven terrain. For comparison, a humanoid from the humanoid robots section is currently mainly a research platform.

How we check the data

For every price we record the source and the date, and we distinguish the manufacturer’s price list from prices in Polish shops. We convert dollar values at the exchange rate on the day of checking, and the prices in this text come from checks at the end of September 2026. When sources disagree, we show the range. We take technical data from datasheets and manufacturers’ websites, and mark advertising claims as such.

What cannot be confirmed, we do not publish: you will see “manufacturer does not state”, not an estimate. We also know that some prices are indicative — as with Spot — and we say so plainly. You can compare two models in the comparison tool, and you will find the manufacturers with their countries of origin in the directory.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a quadruped robot cost?

The cheapest consumer models, such as the Unitree Go2, start at around ten-odd thousand zlotys (PLN). Industrial models in the Boston Dynamics Spot or Unitree B2 class, built for inspecting industrial facilities, cost from several tens of thousands to over PLN 100,000 (≈ EUR 22,870), depending on equipment.

What are quadruped robots used for in industry?

The most common uses are autonomous inspection of industrial installations, power plants, construction sites and critical infrastructure — the robot patrols a route, collecting sensor readings and thermal images in places that are hard to reach or dangerous for people.

Can a quadruped robot handle stairs and uneven terrain?

Yes, this is one of the main advantages of the design over wheeled mobile robots (AMRs) — the four-legged build and dynamic stabilization algorithms let it climb stairs and cross rubble, mud and other obstacles that a wheeled robot cannot.

Can a private individual legally buy a robot dog in Poland?

Yes, consumer models such as the Unitree Go2 are officially sold in Poland with a VAT invoice. It is worth checking local rules on recording in public spaces, however, if the robot has a built-in camera.

Which companies make quadruped robots?

The market is driven by Boston Dynamics (Spot) and China's Unitree (the Go and B series), alongside Deep Robotics and ANYbotics, among others. Unitree has come to dominate the consumer and budget segment thanks to aggressive pricing.

How long does a quadruped robot run on one charge?

In models that state the value, from 1.5 to 5 hours, with a median of 2 hours. The Boston Dynamics Spot claims 1.5 hours, the Unitree A2 and B2 up to 5 hours. For an unattended patrol you need a docking station or quick battery swapping.

What is the difference between the Air, Pro and EDU versions of the Unitree Go2?

They are three levels of equipment and software access: Air is the entry level, Pro has stronger components and sensors, EDU gives full research access. In Polish shops Air costs PLN 9,900–12,000 (≈ EUR 2,260–2,740) and Pro about PLN 21,400 (≈ EUR 4,900); ask the seller for EDU pricing.

Does the Boston Dynamics Spot have a public price list?

No. The manufacturer sells it on request. A 2020 source gave USD 74,500, or about PLN 288,777 (≈ EUR 66,060), but that is an indicative value and should not be treated as a current offer.

Is there a quadruped robot manufacturer in Poland?

Yes. MAB Robotics of Poznań makes the waterproof Honey Badger (IP67) for inspecting sewers and networks. The robot is sold directly by the manufacturer, with an individual offer.

When is a quadruped robot better than a wheeled one?

When the route includes stairs, rubble, mud or uneven terrain. On a smooth floor a wheeled robot, such as an AMR, works more cheaply and faster; a wheeled-legged hybrid like the Lynx combines both approaches.

Does the robotization tax relief apply to quadruped robots?

That is not certain. The relief covers factory-new industrial robots that meet the statutory definition, and an inspection or educational robot may not. Before you include the relief in your calculation, get a tax adviser’s opinion; 2026 is currently the last year it applies.
