Robots in Poland: what actually works

How many robots actually work in Polish hospitals, warehouses and factories? There are no centralised statistics, and company claims often run ahead of reality. So this page does not guess: it collects specific, documented cases from Polish media and trade sources, with the name of the source at each entry. We record only what we can point to; the absence of an entry for an industry does not mean there are no robots there, only that we have no source for it that we can cite.

Looking for where robots work in a specific application? See Applications, from factory to hospital. Want to buy or deploy one? The directories of integrators and shops help you find a partner, and funding helps you count the costs. Who is who in Polish robotics is explained by the Polish robotics map.

Medicine: da Vinci robotic surgery

The da Vinci system (Intuitive Surgical) is the best-documented robot in Polish hospitals. Descriptions of several deployments that reached the media in 2026:

Rydygier Hospital, Kraków: the 1,000th operation with a da Vinci robot. The Rydygier Specialist Hospital announced its 1,000th operation with the da Vinci system, around July 2026. Source: mp.pl.

Jurasz University Hospital No. 1, Bydgoszcz: the first paediatric da Vinci operations. The hospital performed its first robotic operations on children, extending use of the system to urological and surgical procedures, around July 2026. Source: bydgoszcz.wyborcza.pl.

Independent Public Clinical Hospital No. 4, Lublin: removal of a tumour from the inferior vena cava. A robotic removal of a tumour from the vena cava inferior with the da Vinci system, around May or June 2026. Source: Kurier Lubelski.

Clinical Provincial Hospital, Rzeszów: the first robotic Whipple procedure in the region. The first robotic resection of the head of the pancreas in the Podkarpackie voivodeship, around August 2026. Source: Gazeta Wyborcza Rzeszów.

Clinical Provincial Hospital No. 2, Rzeszów: more than 2,000 operations with the da Vinci robot. The hospital reported passing 2,000 operations since the system was introduced (bought around 2022), around July or August 2026. Source: Onet.

Municipal Hospital, Olsztyn: start of the da Vinci programme. The hospital began operations with the surgical robot around 2024. Source: RMF24.

More about the system, its costs and the funding of procedures (including NFZ pricing) is in the article “da Vinci Robots in Polish Hospitals”.

Retail: stores without checkouts

Żabka Nano: checkout-free stores with image recognition. A network of autonomous, round-the-clock stores working on a "walk in, take a product, walk out" model thanks to cameras and artificial intelligence. It is a borderline case: there is no robotic arm, and the vision system works much like "Just Walk Out". The first store is in Opole, with another planned at Wrocław airport. According to financial statements for 2024, the format was unprofitable (PLN 32.6 million of revenue). Sources: Gazeta Wyborcza Opole, Wirtualne Media, Eska, Finanse WP.

Humanoids

MeraRobotics: "Edward Warchocki", a Polish robot influencer. The Polish company MeraRobotics (representative: Bartosz Idzik) develops humanoid robots, including the project "Edward Warchocki", presented as a "robo-influencer". Hardware details and funding are not publicly described. Source: Polskie Radio, 22 May 2026.

What is not here

We do not describe deployments in the military and police, farming, catering and hotels, or logistics operators, because we have no citable sources for them; those areas are covered by the articles “Robots in Farming: How Field Automation Looks in Poland”, “Service Robots in Restaurants and Hotels” and “AMR Robots in the Warehouse”. Nor do we list factory expansions when it is unknown which robots work there. If you know a documented case of a robot deployment in Poland, write to the editorial team (see Contact).
