Coco 2, a delivery robot built in cooperation with Segway that travels on sidewalks and bike lanes, reaches speeds of up to 13 miles per hour (about 21 km/h) and holds up to six separate compartments for parcels.

Behind its development is Coco Robotics of Los Angeles, which is gradually moving from a model in which a human operator steers the robot remotely (teleoperation) to full autonomy built on the Jetson Orin NX compute module. That shift distinguishes Coco from some competitors in last-mile delivery who stay with constant teleoperation as a safety layer.

The company's founding year, the amount of funding and the number of active robots are not given. Presence in Poland is unconfirmed; sidewalk delivery in Central Europe remains at an early regulatory stage.

History and development

Coco Robotics is based in Los Angeles and works on last-mile delivery, from a restaurant or shop to the customer's door. The founding year, the amount of funding and the number of active robots are not given, so we will not tell a story of investment rounds here.

What we do know is how its way of operating is changing. The company has moved gradually from a model in which a human steers the robot remotely (teleoperation) to full autonomy built on the Jetson Orin NX compute module. This chip is made by NVIDIA Jetson, and we write about the role of such chips in robots in the text on how humanoids work, “How Does a Humanoid Robot Work”.

Coco 2 was built in cooperation with Segway and travels on sidewalks and bike lanes. This direction, from a human in the loop to full autonomy, distinguishes Coco from some competitors who stay with constant teleoperation as a safety layer.

Portfolio

The portfolio is a single robot, but a new-generation one: Coco 2, introduced in February 2026. It is a fully autonomous delivery robot that reaches up to 5.8 m/s, about 21 km/h, and holds up to six separate compartments for parcels.

An important caveat about the business model: Coco 2 is available only as a service in the US. You do not buy it as a machine for your own fleet; you use a delivery service. That is why there is no sale price, and in Poland the robot is not available.

Points of reference are Starship Delivery Robot and Serve Robotics Gen 3, two other sidewalk robots we list. All belong to service robots and show how differently the last-mile problem is approached. Retail use is described at retail and food-service use at restaurants. If someone one day asks whether such a robot can handle Polish sidewalks, remember that it depends on surfaces, curbs and regulations, not just speed. Also check how Coco's way of working differs from Starship Delivery Robot.

Market position

We do not know the amount of Coco Robotics' funding or the number of robots on the streets, so its position cannot be judged by numbers. We have only a description of its direction: the move from teleoperation to autonomy and the partnership with Segway on building Coco 2.

In sidewalk delivery Starship Technologies and Serve Robotics compete, both described in our catalog. The difference the sources stress lies in the approach to supervision: some players keep constant teleoperation as a safety layer, while Coco is working toward full autonomy.

A service model instead of hardware sales is typical for this segment and has consequences for cost calculations. How to calculate such models is shown in “Humanoid Robot TCO: How to Calculate Total Cost”, although that text concerns humanoids. The final assessment depends on how many customers actually order deliveries by robot, and the company does not disclose that data. It is worth returning to this comparison when one of the firms discloses figures.

Presence in Poland

Coco Robotics' presence in Poland is unconfirmed. Sidewalk delivery in Central Europe remains at an early regulatory stage, so it is hard to expect such a service to reach Polish streets quickly.

We list no Polish partner or deployment. Anyone who wants to see what Polish companies are doing in this field will find an overview in “Polish Robotics Companies”. Also check local rules on autonomous vehicles on sidewalks, because it is these, not the technology, that usually set the pace at which such services arrive. For now a Polish reader has no way to use it.

Editorial verdict

Coco 2 is an interesting example of last-mile delivery moving to full autonomy, but it is available only as a service in the US. A Polish reader can watch it, not deploy it. Set it against Starship Delivery Robot if you want to understand how differently the same problem is solved. For Polish delivery companies it is for now inspiration, not an offer. Choose it only as something to watch, not to buy.
