Summary

NSF certification, two stabilized 40 cm trays and a detachable dish bin: Servi, from California's Bear Robotics, is one of the most widely deployed service robots in American restaurants, seen at Denny's among others and in a pilot covering 61 Chili's locations. The robot weighs 33 kg, stands 105 cm tall, moves at up to 1.2 m/s and runs up to 12 hours on a charge, using LiDAR and camera-based navigation.

That is longer than the Avidbots Neo 2 from the same service segment, though the two robots do entirely different jobs. Pricing is where the confusion lies: RobotLAB lists USD 9,990 to buy, while restauranttools.ai currently shows USD 399 a month as the standard lease (a 36-month contract) or USD 293 a month for the Servi Plus variant.

The USD 999 a month figure that was once cited is described on that same page as a historical 2021 price for early customers, not a current offer. Bear Robotics is backed by investment from LG and Softbank Robotics. In Poland the robot has no confirmed distributor and no deployments.

Servi is a proposition for restaurants and hotels that want to spare staff from carrying plates and clearing dishes, especially when traffic is heavy.

Price and availability in Poland

approx. 38,700 PLN* (≈ EUR 8,850) converted from 9,990 USD, NBP rate 3.8762, as of 1 October 2026 · Updated: September 2026 · Source (robotlab.com)

RobotLAB lists a purchase price of USD 9,990. restauranttools.ai currently lists USD 399/month (Standard Servi, 36-month contract) or USD 293/month (Servi Plus) as the RaaS/lease price; the USD 999/month figure is clearly marked on the same page as a historical 2021 value for early customers, not a current price.

Running and deployment costs

Purchase: RobotLAB lists a price of USD 9,990, which is about PLN 38,720 (≈ EUR 8,860) at the rate of 3.8762 on 1 October 2026. That is the price from a foreign shop, so shipping, customs duty and VAT come on top for Poland; as a rough estimate they could raise the amount by a dozen or so percent.

The alternative is a lease or subscription (RaaS). The restauranttools.ai site currently lists USD 399 a month for the standard version on a 36-month contract and USD 293 for Servi Plus. Calculation: USD 399 times 36 months is USD 14,364, or about PLN 55,700 (≈ EUR 12,740), which is more than buying. For that difference, however, you get service and less risk.

Running costs: there is no hard data on service and battery costs in Poland; as an estimate, plan a small annual budget for inspections and wear parts. Staff training usually takes a day or two, but that too is an estimate, not manufacturer data.

Whether a serving robot qualifies is something a tax advisor should assess.

Applications

What it's for

The Servi is a robot with two stabilized 40 cm trays and a detachable dish bin, made for the rush hours in a restaurant, when the kitchen sends out dishes faster than the waiters can carry them. It does not take orders and does not chat with guests about the menu. Its job is simpler, and that is exactly why it works well: carry food from the kitchen to the table and dirty dishes from the table to the dishwashing station.

The numbers show how it plays out in practice: a 30 kg payload, speeds up to 1.2 m/s and up to 12 hours on a battery, in other words a full day of opening hours. Navigation relies on LiDAR and cameras, and the NSF certification matters where a robot works next to food. The robot is 105 cm tall and weighs 33 kg.

Restaurants come first. At the American chain Denny's, and in a pilot covering 61 Chili's restaurants, Servi takes over carrying heavy trays so the server can focus on the guest. Beyond restaurants it suits hotels (breakfast rooms, hotel restaurants), banquet halls and canteens, where the route is repetitive and long.

Keep the limitations in mind. The robot needs aisles wider than its trays, so in a cramped venue with tightly packed tables it will stop every few moments. Stairs, a terrace with thresholds and a crowd at the entrance are not its territory. Before buying, measure the route through the dining room and ask the supplier how mapping of the whole venue works.

You will find more about robots in restaurants and hospitality in “Service Robots in Restaurants and Hotels”, and the use cases for these sectors on the pages “Restaurant Robots: Waiters on Wheels and Baristas” and hotels.

Typical applications

  • Food service
  • Clearing dishes

Who it's for

Best suited to: restaurants and hotels with heavy traffic, where servers lose time walking through the kitchen, and venues with wide routes and no stairs. Servi also fits places where the biggest problem is dirty dishes piling up on tables: the detachable bin handles that without pulling a person away. If you run a chain, it is worth knowing that the model has deployments in large American chains behind it.

Who it doesn't: small, intimate venues with tightly spaced tables, and places where the service itself is the heart of the offer (fine dining). Don't buy it either if you expect it to replace a waiter in contact with the guest. Servi carries; it does not serve. Be careful, too, with multi-level venues and terraces with uneven surfaces.

Before buying, three things need settling: how wide the narrowest route is between the kitchen and the farthest table, how many people work a shift at peak, and who will update the floor map after every rearrangement of the tables. The robot cannot supply those answers.

Deployments

The best-documented deployments are American: the Denny's chain and a pilot in 61 Chili's restaurants. We have no details such as the number of robots per venue or the financial results of the pilot, so we do not give them.

In Poland: there are no confirmed deployments and no confirmed distributor. That does not mean there are no serving robots in the country, only that we found no evidence for Servi. In this category it is worth a look at the Pudu BellaBot, covered at Pudu BellaBot, and at Keenon robots such as Keenon DinerBot T8. If Servi in particular interests you, ask the supplier for a list of references in Europe.

Comparison

Four models are comparable in this class, differing in payload, height and price.

Pudu BellaBot: 40 kg payload (versus 30 kg for Servi), 129 cm tall, the same 12-hour runtime. Taller and stronger, but pricier: about USD 14,500 to buy versus USD 9,990 for Servi.

Keenon DinerBot T8: lighter (34 kg) and running up to 15 hours, listed at about PLN 27,130 (≈ EUR 6,210) (roughly USD 7,000). It has a smaller payload (20 kg), so it suits lighter tasks.

Pudu HolaBot: 60 kg payload and up to 24 hours of work, for venues that move a great deal; listed at about PLN 58,900 (≈ EUR 13,470) (roughly USD 15,200).

Keenon DinerBot T5: an older, proven model with a 20 kg payload, listed at about PLN 38,800 (≈ EUR 8,880) (roughly USD 10,000).

If you have a small budget and a simple route, start with Keenon. If you need power, look at Pudu.

When choosing, compare not only price but also payload, the robot's height and whether the supplier provides service in Poland. A good starting point is the roundup in “Service Robots in Restaurants and Hotels”.

History

Bear Robotics is a California company backed by investment from LG and Softbank Robotics. Servi is its most popular product and is among the most widely deployed service robots in American restaurants. We have no confirmed launch date or sales debut, so we do not guess the year.

What can be traced is the shift in business model. Early customers were offered a subscription at USD 999 a month; today that amount is marked as a historical 2021 figure, and the market has come down to USD 399 for the standard variant and USD 293 for Servi Plus. A falling subscription price is a typical sign of a maturing category: the robot stopped being a curiosity and became a tool.

The context for the whole market is described in “Service Robots in Restaurants and Hotels”.
