Galaxea AI is a Chinese robotics company that, according to available sources, is based in China. Its founding year, city and specific hardware model are not confirmed. The company appears in industry lists of Chinese humanoid and manipulator startups alongside Galbot and AgiBot, but without a verified specification it is hard to compare directly with the competition today.
The manufacturer discloses no funding or valuation. It is absent from Poland, with no distributor and no commercial offers. It is worth checking galaxea.ai directly once its security certificate is sorted out, should current data be needed.
For investors and integrators following China's manipulation robotics market, Galaxea AI remains a name worth watching, but not a company you can do business with today without additional verification.
History and development
Galaxea AI, also known as Galaxea Dynamics, is a Chinese company about whose history we know little and prefer to say so plainly. One firm anchor is January 2025, when the company presented its R1 series of humanoids in three variants: R1 Lite, R1 and R1 Pro. The technical data comes from the official R1 series user manual and from an industry report on the launch. The company appears in lists of Chinese humanoid startups alongside Galbot and AgiBot, but without verified funding information it cannot be valued. It is also unknown who is behind the capital. Instead of guesses, we give what can be checked: the design of the robots and the stated prices. The general picture of the market Galaxea operates in is described in “Humanoid Robot Market Forecasts”. For the reader this means a simple rule of caution: until the official site responds and an independent review or deployment appears, we treat all figures as manufacturer claims, not facts confirmed in practice.
Portfolio
The whole offering rests on one idea: a two-armed robot on a wheeled base instead of bipedal walking. Galaxea R1 has 24 degrees of freedom, a manipulation reach from 0 to 200 cm, a payload of up to 5 kg, cameras on the head, wrists and base, and a 360° LiDAR; computing is handled by a 550 TOPS platform. Galaxea R1 Pro grows to 200 cm, with 26 degrees of freedom and an arm payload of 10 kg, 7 HD cameras and an NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin 32 GB computer (NVIDIA Jetson). The entry-level Galaxea R1 Lite has 23 degrees of freedom, 60 cm arms and the same 200 TOPS. A shared feature is isomorphic control via VR: an operator in goggles steers the arms almost one to one, which makes it possible to collect data for training manipulation models. The series starts at 199,000 RMB. The background to this method is in “VLA Models: How AI Controls Humanoid Robots in 2026”. Note that none of the variants is a fully autonomous robot: they are teleoperation tools designed for labs and industrial uses in which a human guides the machine and the machine memorizes the motion. Details are explained in “How to Read a Robot Datasheet”.
Market position
Galaxea competes with Chinese research platforms that are sold to labs as data-collection tools: Unitree G1 and AgiBot A2. The wheeled base gives it more vertical reach, but means giving up climbing stairs and walking on uneven terrain, which is the strength of Unitree Robotics. We know of no named customers, and no funding or valuation either. In lists it appears next to Galbot and AgiBot, which suggests the market sees it as a player in the same league, but that is an inference from context, not hard data. Without a verified specification and a manufacturer site, it is hard to compare directly with the competition. A comparison of classes and prices is in the article “How Much Does a Humanoid Robot Cost in 2026”. The company's market position is thus today more a promise than a fact: three models on sale and prices from 199,000 RMB are all that can reliably be written down. We will add more as independent sources appear.
Presence in Poland
Galaxea is absent from Poland: no distributor, no commercial offers and no documented deployments, and all three models are listed as unavailable in the country. A Polish university or lab that wanted to use the R1 for teleoperation and data collection would have to order directly from China, handle import and service on its own, and first check whether the company answers inquiries. The research environment is described in “Universities and research”. In practice this means that for the Polish reader Galaxea is for now a curiosity from the Chinese market. If the situation changes, we will update this profile.
Editorial verdict
Galaxea AI is a name to watch, not a company to buy from. The R1 design is interesting for labs teaching manipulation models, but the lack of verifiable information about the company and about availability in Europe is decisive: without contact with the manufacturer I would not plan an order. If a European partner ever appears, we will return to assess the company with new data. Until then it is safer to turn to platforms with public prices and distributors in Europe.
