CLOi, a separate LG product line, is, unlike the concept-stage Q9 and CLOiD in LG's main offering, already really sold and rented, mainly in the USA through RobotLAB and LG Business Solutions.
The two models described here are the ServeBot, a robot for delivering orders in restaurants, and the GuideBot, a navigation and advertising robot with two 27-inch screens, used for example in hotel lobbies or shopping centers.
The category overlaps with the offering of Keenon Robotics and Pudu Robotics, also Asian competition in the service-robot segment for food service and retail, although direct pricing data for a comparison is missing here. The year the models were introduced and any commercial presence in Europe and Poland are not confirmed; the sources so far concern only the American market.
As LG's offering in Europe develops, this may change in the coming years.
History and development
In a hotel lobby or a shopping-mall hall, a robot with two 27-inch screens points guests the way. That is the GuideBot, one of two machines in the CLOi line, which LG Electronics (Seoul, listed on the exchange under KRX 066570) runs alongside its more futuristic projects. Unlike the concept-stage LG Q9 and LG CLOiD in LG's main offering, CLOi is already really sold and rented, mainly in the USA, through RobotLAB and LG Business Solutions. The year the models were introduced is not confirmed, and neither is any presence in Europe. That is an important limitation: all the documentation concerns the American market, so we do not assume the offering looks the same in Poland. We describe CLOi as part of the larger group LG Electronics, and context on uses in food service and hospitality is given in “Service Robots in Restaurants and Hotels” and the category “Service robots”. In practice, this means the description in this profile rests on the American offering: prices and terms may look different in Europe. The data comes from LG product pages and the RobotLAB store, so we treat it as a reference point, not as a Polish price list. As in other profiles, we say so explicitly.
Portfolio
LG CLOi ServeBot is a restaurant delivery robot with a 30 kg payload, priced at USD 17,900 (about PLN 69,400 (≈ EUR 15,900)) or USD 746 a month under an RaaS model, that is, robot as a service. The second option matters: it lowers the entry threshold for a venue that does not want to tie up capital. LG CLOi GuideBot is a guest-guiding robot: two 27-inch screens, up to 5 hours of operation and a price of USD 39,990 (about PLN 155,000 (≈ EUR 35,520)). It is used for giving directions and showing ads or information, for example in hotel lobbies or shopping centers. That price gap shows that navigation and advertising cost more than carrying trays. For a direct comparison, put the ServeBot next to the Keenon DinerBot T8, the Pudu BellaBot or the Bear Robotics Servi; uses are covered in the sections “Restaurant Robots: Waiters on Wheels and Baristas” and hotels. Prices in dollars come from the RobotLAB store, so in Poland you need to add customs duty, VAT and the cost of service. There is also no certainty that both models will be available here in the same configuration. Anyone calculating return on investment should factor that in and compare with renting, because the monthly fee of USD 746 adds up over a year to an amount close to the purchase price.
Market position
LG CLOi is a large electronics group's entry into the service-robot segment, where Asian specialists dominate. Its direct rivals in our coverage are Keenon Robotics and Pudu Robotics, and in the States Bear Robotics. We have no data on the number of CLOi robots deployed or on market share, so we do not judge the scale of sales. Its strength is the brand and the distribution channel through RobotLAB; the weaker side is the lack of confirmation of a presence in Europe. For wider context on the whole segment, see “Service Robots in Restaurants and Hotels” and the category “Service robots”. For comparison: Keenon and Pudu each have several models in our coverage, so the choice among them is wider than with LG's two machines. An advantage of CLOi is a recognizable brand and consistency with the LG electronics ecosystem, though we do not know whether that translates into real savings for the customer. Detailed comparisons of competitors are in “Service Robots in Restaurants and Hotels”.
Presence in Poland
A commercial presence of LG CLOi in Poland is not confirmed: all the documentation concerns the American market, and neither model has a listed availability in Poland. We know of no Polish restaurants or hotels using these models. If you are choosing a robot for a venue in Poland, check which manufacturers have local service, as we discuss in “Service Robots in Restaurants and Hotels”. On renting service robots for events, read “Renting a Humanoid Robot for an Event”, and on commercial cleaning robots, “Commercial Cleaning Robots in Practice”. Ask LG's Polish subsidiary about its offering of robots for business before you decide the topic does not concern you, and compare it with the competition.
Editorial verdict
The CLOi ServeBot and GuideBot are products of a well-known brand, but their offering in Europe and Poland remains unconfirmed. Check service and parts availability before buying. If you need a robot for a venue in Poland, compare the LG CLOi ServeBot with the Pudu BellaBot. This is a solution from a major brand, but without confirmed support in Poland, so choose with caution and ask about service. A good first step is to ask LG's Polish distributor about availability and the price in zloty.
