Leju Robotics, a Chinese company with production facilities in Foshan, opened an automated humanoid robot assembly line on March 29, 2026 together with its subcontractor Dongfang Precision. According to the manufacturer, one humanoid is built there every 30 minutes, across 24 assembly stages and 77 inspection points, with a target capacity of about 10,000 units a year.

That puts Leju among the few firms claiming mass rather than workshop production of humanoids, alongside Unitree and Figure AI. The only known model is the Kuavo-5, listed as available for sale, though without a technical specification. The founding year, headquarters location, funding and valuation were not verified; the source is solely a roundup article from the trade press, not the manufacturer's site.

Presence in the Polish or European market is unknown. If the claimed production scale is confirmed, it would place Leju among the significant mass producers of humanoids in China.

History and development

Leju Robotics is a Chinese company with a production base in Foshan, in Guangdong province. Its most talked-about event was the opening on 29 March 2026 of an automated humanoid assembly line, launched together with the subcontractor Dongfang Precision. According to the manufacturer's declaration, one robot is built there every 30 minutes, across 24 assembly stages and with 77 inspection points, and the target capacity is about 10 thousand units a year. These are declared figures, not independently verified, and they should be treated as such. We have not confirmed the company's founding year, the location of its headquarters, its funding or its valuation, because we rely on a collective trade article rather than on the manufacturer's website. What we do know is that the company is preparing a stock market debut: in its IPO prospectus it disclosed data on the selling prices of its humanoid Kuavo-5. Such documents are sometimes one of the few reliable sources of numbers on Chinese manufacturers, because they are usually subject to stricter requirements than marketing materials. We therefore value data from the prospectus more highly than claims made at press events. The wider background of the Chinese humanoid wave is described in “Chinese Humanoid Robots”.

Portfolio

The only model we know is Leju Kuavo-5. According to a third-party aggregator it has 40 degrees of freedom, and the manufacturer gives two variants: 1,500 mm and 50 kg, and 1,660 mm and 55 kg. Its own joints reach a peak torque of 360 newton metres, which lets the robot jump more than 20 centimetres. The sensors are a stereo depth camera, an array of six microphones and a LiDAR, and the software is based on KaihongOS, a system derived from Huawei's HarmonyOS, which is rare among competitors using mostly Linux or their own solutions. The prospectus shows that the average selling price fell from about 413,900 yuan in 2024 to about 308,100 yuan in 2025, roughly 45,500 dollars. This is one of the few cases in the segment where a price decline is documented by an official financial document. The meaning of degrees of freedom is explained in “Degrees of Freedom (DOF) in Humanoid Robots”, and the model belongs to the category “Humanoid robots”. We therefore treat the parameters from a third-party aggregator with caution.

Market position

The fall in the average price of the Kuavo-5 suggests competitive pressure in the segment rather than premium positioning. That is a strong hint against competitors such as Unitree Robotics with the model Unitree G1 or Fourier Intelligence with the model Fourier GR-1. Price is not the only criterion here, but it shows fastest how the market is maturing. Among Chinese companies in the catalogue are also UBTECH Robotics, AgiBot and Kepler Robotics, whose model Kepler Forerunner K2 has similar factory ambitions. Leju declares mass rather than craft production, but sales volumes are not confirmed, so we do not know whether the line works at full capacity. If the manufacturer's declaration is confirmed, the company will join the ranks of the significant humanoid makers in China, alongside those whose scale is already better documented. How to calculate the profitability of buying such a robot is shown in “Humanoid Robot TCO: How to Calculate Total Cost”, and market forecasts are collected in “Humanoid Robot Market Forecasts”. The prices of other humanoids are compared in “How Much Does a Humanoid Robot Cost in 2026”.

Presence in Poland

Leju's presence on the Polish or European market is unknown. We found no distributor, integrator or documented deployments in Poland, and according to available sources the company concentrates on the Chinese market, with an assembly plant in Foshan. For a European integrator this means, for now, watching the market rather than a real purchase option. Information is also missing on the price for a European customer and on warranty terms. Before any import one would have to check the safety requirements described in “Robot Safety Standards”. The applications the manufacturer lists, namely industry, automation and home services, are described on the pages “Factories and manufacturing” and homes, but without this robot taking part.

Editorial verdict

Leju Robotics is an interesting subject to watch, because it is one of the few companies to have documented a humanoid price decline in an official document, and it declares mass production. The strong side is the open price figures and its own joints. The weak side is the lack of confirmation of production scale, little data about the company and no presence in Europe, so the assessment rests largely on the company's declarations. For a Polish buyer this is for now an informational topic, not a purchasing one.
