Unitree has two large industrial quadrupeds on offer, and customers ask which to choose: the older Unitree B2 or the new Unitree A2, announced in 2025. Both come from Unitree Robotics and both run for several hours. They differ in mass, payload, power supply and sensing. A pricing problem adds to this: neither has a reliable price list, and sources give figures that differ by as much as threefold. We sort out the facts.

Design and specifications
The B2 weighs 60 kg and carries over 40 kg while walking (up to 120 kg statically), the A2 weighs 42 kg and carries 25 kg. Both have 12 degrees of freedom, a speed of 5 m/s for the A2 and up to 6 m/s for the B2 in a special configuration, and about 5 hours of runtime. The B2 has a 2250 Wh battery (4–6 hours, over 20 km of range unloaded), the A2 two hot-swappable batteries, which shortens charging breaks.
The main difference is sensing. The A2 has two industrial LiDARs, front and rear, an HD camera and a front light, giving fuller coverage of the surroundings than the single 3D LiDAR in the B2. The B2 additionally has two depth cameras and two optical cameras, and an Intel Core i5 or i7 computer. The A2 can be ordered in a wheel-leg option intended for terrain transport. The B2 handles 20–25 cm stairs, obstacles up to 40 cm and slopes above 45°; for the A2 we have no such data. More on reading these figures: “How to Read a Robot Datasheet”.
Price and availability in Poland
This is where uncertainty begins. The Unitree shop gives USD 100,000 for the A2 as a placeholder value requiring contact with sales, while other price guides indicate USD 31,900–46,900. For the B2, roundups cite USD 76,900–296,000. The discrepancies are large enough that we treat none of the figures as a market price.
In Poland we saw the B2 at PLN 270,000 (≈ EUR 61,870) (x-kom) and PLN 299,000 (≈ EUR 68,510) (Botland), and the A2 Pro at PLN 195,000 (≈ EUR 44,680) (x-kom). A2 availability is in fact described contradictorily: some data point to sellers, and other sources speak of no official distribution. So ask for a written quote and a delivery confirmation.
Which model for which job
Choose the B2 when payload and a proven platform matter: carrying tools, heavy equipment, security of sites and rescue. It has a longer deployment history, although we know of no documented ones in Poland.
The A2 suits integrators who develop their own logistics, inspection or rescue applications and need continuous operation thanks to two batteries and better sensor coverage. For warehouse tasks where lower mass counts, see warehouses. A simple split helps the decision. If the task is lifting and long routes with heavy equipment, the B2 has the payload advantage of 40 kg against 25 kg. If continuity of work and wider vision count, the A2 has two batteries and two LiDARs. Speeds are similar and runtime is about 5 hours for both, so payload and sensing will decide, not a race. Treat both platforms as tools for a technical team, not off-the-shelf equipment. A full overview of uses: “Quadruped Robots: Uses in Inspection, Security and Industry”.
Conclusion
The A2, announced in 2025, is lighter than the older B2 (42 kg versus 60 kg), but its payload is smaller: 25 kg against the B2's 40 kg, where the B2 has the advantage. Speed is similar, at 5.0 m/s against 6.0 m/s. Both run for the same 5 hours. The key design difference is the A2's dual industrial LiDAR, mounted front and rear, which gives fuller coverage of the surroundings than the B2's single LiDAR. The listed prices are identical: $100,000 is a placeholder from Unitree that requires contacting the sales team, although independent price lists put the A2's realistic range at $31,900 to $46,900. The discrepancy between sources is clear and not definitively resolved. Both models target logistics, industrial inspection and rescue, which makes them direct competitors within the same manufacturer's lineup.
More payload, a proven track record and a Polish shop offer: the B2. You have a task where strength counts, not lightness.
Continuous work on two batteries, fuller LiDAR coverage and lower mass: the A2, but only after a written quote and delivery confirmation, because price and availability are unclear. If the budget is smaller, start with the Unitree Go2 and move to larger models only after a trial. If you are looking for competitors, compare the DEEP Robotics Lynx and the Boston Dynamics Spot. The whole category is described on the quadruped robots page.
Frequently asked questions
Which model has the larger payload?
The B2, at 40 kg, beats the A2, which is rated for 25 kg.
Are the prices of both models reliably confirmed?
Not entirely. Unitree lists a placeholder of $100,000 for both, requiring a call to sales, while independent sources estimate the A2 at much less.
What sets the A2's sensing apart?
A dual industrial LiDAR mounted at the front and rear of the robot, giving wider coverage of the surroundings than the B2's single LiDAR.
Which model has the greater payload?
The B2, over 40 kg while walking and up to 120 kg statically. The A2 carries 25 kg.
Are the A2 and B2 prices confirmed?
No. The Unitree shop gives USD 100,000 as a placeholder for the A2, and other guides USD 31,900–46,900. For the B2 the range is USD 76,900–296,000.
Can I buy the A2 in Poland?
The data conflict. We saw an x-kom offer for PLN 195,000 (≈ EUR 44,680), but some sources speak of no official distribution.
