Manufacturer
MAB Robotics (PL, Poznań, founded 2016): Honey Badger 4.0 quadruped, IP67, direct sales in Poland.
MAB Robotics Sp. z o.o. of Poznań, a company that spun out of Poznań University of Technology and has operated since 2016, is one of the few Polish makers of quadruped robots covered here, alongside the PIAP institute in Warsaw, though in a completely different commercial segment.
Its only model, the Honey Badger 4.0, stands out for its IP67 rating, meaning it withstands immersion and dust, a feature rarely found in competing quadrupeds such as the Unitree Go2 or Boston Dynamics Spot, where environmental resistance is often rated lower.
It is sold directly through mabrobotics.pl, so availability in Poland is exceptionally good: it is the only model in this group with a confirmed Polish sales channel.
MAB Robotics Sp. z o.o. is a Poznań company that grew out of Poznań University of Technology and has operated since 2016. That origin shows in its whole approach: rather than copying foreign designs, the team developed its own legged-robot platform around actuators and software created in Greater Poland. In 2022 came the Honey Badger 4.0, a four-legged inspection robot that remains the only product of the company described in our overview. According to the maker, the earlier 3.0 version went into real work in 2023, when it was used to inspect Poznań's district-heating and sewer channels. In 2024 the robot was shown at a large defence-industry trade fair in the region, and in September 2025 the company appeared at MSPO in Kielce. In 2025 MAB Robotics also made the RBR50 Innovation Award list, a ranking of the fifty most innovative robotics companies in the world. On the manufacturer's site, version 4.0 has been withdrawn from sale: the current flagship is the Honey Badger 5.0, and older units keep warranty support only. The company does not disclose funding, valuation or headcount, so we will not guess at them. MAB Robotics' history is therefore short, yet surprisingly dense for a Polish hardware start-up with a decade of track record. For the wider picture of the domestic scene, see “Polish Robotics Companies”.
MAB Robotics' portfolio rests on a single line: the Honey Badger quadruped. The MAB Robotics Honey Badger 4.0 (4.0) stands 50 cm tall, weighs 12 kg, carries up to 4 kg of payload and runs for about 2 hours per charge. Drive is electric. Its key feature is an IP67 enclosure, which lets the robot work underwater and in dust. In this group that is rare: popular quadrupeds such as the Unitree Go2-W or the Boston Dynamics Spot list lower or less prominent environmental ratings in their descriptions. The maker targets municipal utilities, inspection services, industry and research centres. It names inspection of heating and sewer channels, underwater inspection, and search-and-rescue uses. There is no price list: offers are built individually, depending on the sensor set. Keep in mind that version 4.0 is marked as withdrawn from sale, and the newer Honey Badger 5.0 has not yet been described here, so we give no figures for it. If you are comparing quadrupeds for field work, start with the overview of quadruped robots and the guide “Quadruped Robots: Uses in Inspection, Security and Industry”. Read every datasheet critically; “How to Read a Robot Datasheet” explains how.
MAB Robotics occupies a peculiar spot in the market: a small Polish maker in a segment dominated by American and Chinese brands. On one side stands Boston Dynamics with Spot, on the other Unitree Robotics with cheaper designs. MAB does not try to compete on payload: the Honey Badger 4.0 carries 4 kg, whereas rivals claim noticeably higher figures. Its advantages are IP67 sealing and underwater operation, plus a documented municipal deployment in Poznań. It also competes with other inspection specialists, such as Switzerland's ANYbotics or America's Ghost Robotics, though in different niches. Two signals from 2025 show the company's ambitions: the RBR50 distinction and a presence at MSPO. At the same time, a wnp.pl report describes the firm selling its platform mainly abroad, with its founders saying that in Poland they were told they were “non-innovative”. That is important context: MAB's market position is stronger in industry rankings than in domestic orders. The end of sales of version 4.0 also means that the current offer has to be discussed directly with the manufacturer.
In our overview, MAB Robotics is the quadruped maker most firmly rooted in Poland: it is based in Poznań and sells directly through mabrobotics.pl, with no intermediaries. There is therefore no classic dealer network, and contact runs by e-mail or phone. The documented deployment is the inspection of heating and sewer channels in Poznań. The company has also appeared at defence trade fairs, including MSPO in Kielce in September 2025. Prices are not public. We have no data on the number of units sold in the country, so we make no claims about scale. Wider background on buying robots in Poland is in “Poland's Robotization Tax Relief”.
MAB Robotics is a rare case of a Polish manufacturer with a concrete product, a concrete deployment and recognition abroad. The Honey Badger 4.0 is withdrawn from sale, so what matters today is the Honey Badger 5.0, which we do not assess. Recommendation: for municipal and inspection services this is an address worth contacting, but without a public price list you should prepare for offer negotiations. For an ordinary user this is not an off-the-shelf product.
