Summary

Dobot Atom is the Chinese cobot maker's first step into humanoid robots, built around a proprietary system called Neuro-Driven Dexterity that runs on a transformer architecture. The upper body offers 28 degrees of freedom, and the onboard edge compute module claims 1,500 TOPS, a figure that signals ambitions toward end-to-end manipulation (the ROM-1 system runs at 24 Hz).

Perception comes from a camera suite: an Intel RealSense D455 depth camera, a pair of binocular Full HD RGB cameras at 60 fps, and configurable wrist cameras. The robot works at an assembly station with an adjustable height of 700-1000 mm, which sets it apart from humanoids designed to roam freely: Atom is conceived less as a mobile platform and more as a stand-in for a worker at a table.

Unlike Unitree or Fourier, which publish full data on height, weight and battery runtime, Dobot does not list these figures on the product pages we could find. There is no public price either; it is available only on commercial request. That is a significant gap for market comparisons. No confirmed presence in Poland.

Running and deployment costs

There is no price. Dobot gives only a sales contact (sales@dobot-robots.com) and quotes on request; that is the only thing the source confirms.

For an order of magnitude only: humanoids with a similar purpose cost anywhere from tens to hundreds of thousands of zlotys in our catalog (for example the Unitree G1 at about 52,300 PLN (≈ EUR 11,980 at NBP rate 4.3641 of 21 October 2026) and the Astribot S1 at about 476,800 PLN (≈ EUR 109,260)), so that is the range to keep in mind at the start of a conversation with a supplier. It is not a Dobot offer.

On top of the robot's price, add: import (Dobot has no confirmed distributor in Poland), a height-adjustable workstation, integration with the line, operator training, service and insurance. The manufacturer does not state energy consumption or battery runtime. The current rules run to the end of 2026, and an extension has been announced. The full calculation is best done with the method from the article “Humanoid Robot TCO: How to Calculate Total Cost”.

Applications

What it's for

Atom is a humanoid meant, above all, to stand at a table. The manufacturer specifies work at an assembly station with an adjustable height of 700-1000 mm. This is not a robot for roaming the shop floor but an "extra pair of hands" at a station where a person stands today. The tasks in view are reaching, picking up, inserting and pressing small components. Atom is meant to perform them with an upper body offering 28 degrees of freedom and a Neuro-Driven Dexterity system built on a transformer architecture.

The camera set shows what it was designed for: an Intel RealSense D455 depth camera (Intel RealSense), a pair of binocular Full HD RGB cameras at 60 fps, and configurable wrist cameras (ATOM D variant). A wrist camera is the classic solution for guiding a gripper precisely onto a part. The onboard edge compute module claims 1,500 TOPS, and the end-to-end ROM-1 control runs at 24 Hz. That explains why the manufacturer talks about "model-driven dexterity" rather than programming trajectories line by line (see “VLA Models: How AI Controls Humanoid Robots in 2026”).

Sectors where a robot like this makes sense on paper: factories (the factory) for assembling small subassemblies; laboratories (the lab) for repetitive manipulation at a workstation; universities (the university) for research into AI-model-driven manipulation. Atom is not designed for the warehouse (warehouses) or the construction site (construction sites), since the manufacturer stresses a fixed-height workstation rather than mobility. The manufacturer does not publicly name any Atom deployments.

Typical applications

  • Workbench assembly (working height adjustable 700-1,000 mm)

Who it's for

Yes: for production and R&D departments that want to test a humanoid manipulator at an assembly table and have the patience to deal with the manufacturer's sales team. Yes for universities and labs interested in end-to-end models. Dobot also offers cobots, such as the Dobot Nova 5, so the company knows the industrial world.

No: for anyone who needs a clear price and a datasheet with height, weight and battery runtime, because Dobot does not publish these parameters on the pages we could find. No for companies that want to buy off the shelf in Poland: there is no confirmed presence of the model or of a distributor in Poland. No for small plants where a cheaper cobot can do the same job (“What Is a Cobot and How Does It Differ from an Industrial Robot”, cobots). If a single precise task is all that happens at the table, a human-shaped body can be overkill.

Deployments

Our catalog contains neither a distributor nor a single installation. We also know of no named Atom customers worldwide; the manufacturer describes use at an assembly table but names no plants.

Industrial humanoids are being rolled out mostly in pilots today: Figure 03 works at BMW in Spartanburg, Apptronik Apollo is being tested by Mercedes-Benz and GXO Logistics, and Agility Digit 5 has early access from 2027. You'll find this overview in the article “Humanoid Robots in Factories 2026”.

Comparison

A few routes if Atom doesn't fit or can't be bought.

Dobot Nova 5: a 6-axis cobot from the same manufacturer (14 kg, 5 kg payload, 850 mm reach); a simpler and cheaper solution when the tabletop task can be reduced to a single arm.

Unitree G1: a humanoid available in Poland (about 52,300 PLN (≈ EUR 11,980) in our catalog); sensible if you want to test manipulation without negotiating a quote.

NEURA 4NE-1 Mini: a humanoid from Germany, 132 cm and 36 kg, priced at about EUR 19,999 (around 87,500 PLN); reservation costs EUR 100, but deliveries have been pushed back.

Astribot S1: arms with very high speed (up to 10 m/s), sold on request; a pricier option for demanding manipulation tasks.

Agile ONE: a prototype with a 21-DoF hand; interesting from a dexterity standpoint, although the rest of the specification is unknown.

History

Shenzhen-based Dobot knows robotics from the arm side: from the desktop Dobot Magician through the Dobot Nova 5 to further collaborative designs. Atom is a step toward humanoids, built around the company's own dexterity system and a transformer architecture. There is no launch date in our catalog; we do know that Atom comes in several variants: the base 28-DOF model, a Max version with up to 41 DOF, and the ATOM D with wrist cameras.

Against the backdrop of the Chinese market, described in the article “Chinese Humanoid Robots”, Dobot enters as a manufacturer that already has industrial customers (Dobot).
