The company behind the engineai.com.cn domain was founded in October 2023 by Zhao Tongyang and Ren Guowen and develops industrial and general-purpose humanoids with an emphasis on a natural, human-like gait. Its factory in Shenzhen, about 129,000 square feet, is meant to build one robot roughly every 15 minutes.

The company has raised USD 200 million at a USD 1.5 billion valuation and in April 2026 filed for an IPO on the Hong Kong stock exchange, a scale significantly larger than the USD 4.5 million seed round described elsewhere for the same EngineAI brand. The models in this offering are the SE01 and the T800.

That discrepancy suggests we are dealing with the same company at different stages of development, so the data should be read together, not separately. Presence in Poland has not been confirmed.

History and development

October 2023, Shenzhen: two founders, Zhao Tongyang and Ren Guowen, register a company meant to build humanoid robots with a natural, human-like gait. A few years later the firm is one of the loudest in the Chinese humanoid wave. According to our sources it has raised USD 200 million at a USD 1.5 billion valuation, and in April 2026 it filed for an IPO on the Hong Kong stock exchange. The Shenzhen factory of about 129,000 square feet is meant to build one robot roughly every 15 minutes, and in June 2026 the T800 entered industrial production there. Beware of an apparent contradiction: elsewhere in our coverage the EngineAI brand appears with a seed round of about USD 4.5 million. It is the same entity at an earlier stage of development, which is why we read the data together and do not treat it separately. The company's earlier model is described under EngineAI Robotics and in the card EngineAI PM01. The background of the whole phenomenon is explained in “Chinese Humanoid Robots”, and a general map of the market in “Humanoid Robot Market Forecasts”. Keep this in mind when reading roundups of valuations and funding rounds.

Portfolio

This part of the offering has two humanoids. EngineAI SE01 is 170 cm tall, weighs 55 kg and has 32 degrees of freedom (more about the term in “Degrees of Freedom (DOF) in Humanoid Robots”). The manufacturer advertises its gait as natural, and the uses given in the sources are demonstrations and research. We know neither its price nor its payload. EngineAI T800 is already an industrial machine: 173 cm, 29 degrees of freedom, a price of about USD 40,500 (about PLN 157,000 (≈ EUR 35,910 at NBP rate 4.3716 of 20 October 2026)), on sale since June 2026, with an announced production pace of one unit every quarter of an hour. For it, data on payload and weight is missing. Comparing the T800's price with competitors shows a wide spread: Unitree H2 or Agility Digit 5 are entirely different price and application tiers, and the text “How Much Does a Humanoid Robot Cost in 2026” (what a humanoid robot costs in 2026) helps to understand the costs. We cover the whole segment in humanoid robots. The difference between the two models shows the company's path: the SE01 is a showcase of gait capability, the T800 an attempt to enter the factory with a concrete price and production calendar. For a buyer it matters that both models lack complete data, so comparison with competitors rests mainly on height, degrees of freedom and price, not on payload or runtime.

Market position

A USD 1.5 billion valuation and a planned stock market debut put EngineAI among serious players, though not at the top. For comparison, Galbot, covered in the same roundup (Galbot), has according to our sources about USD 986 million in funding and a valuation above USD 3 billion. We do not know customers by name: the sources speak only of industrial production and a factory capable of serial output. The closest rivals in China are Unitree Robotics with the Unitree G1 and Unitree H2, UBTECH Robotics with the Walker series and Fourier Intelligence. In the West the reference points are Figure AI and Tesla with its Optimus project. EngineAI's edge is meant to be production pace, and the risk is that factory claims do not yet have backing in public deployment references. For a Polish reader it matters that the Shenzhen factory is a manufacturer's claim known from industry publications, not a verified audit. Until the first independent accounts of deployments appear, we treat the production pace as a promise.

Presence in Poland

EngineAI's presence in Poland has not been confirmed: both models are recorded as not available through a Polish distributor, and we know of no Polish deployment or university project. An interested company would have to talk directly with the manufacturer or with an intermediary outside the country, allowing for customs duty, CE certification and service. Chinese humanoids reach Poland mainly as showpieces and event rentals; we cover that topic in “Renting a Humanoid Robot for an Event” (renting a humanoid robot for an event), and the real cost of ownership in “Humanoid Robot TCO: How to Calculate Total Cost”. Neither of these routes is simple or cheap today, so for now we do not recommend building a budget around this manufacturer without a conversation with its representative.

Editorial verdict

EngineAI is an interesting case: fast scale, an ambitious factory, a valuation with real numbers. For a Polish buyer it is for now something to watch, not to buy, because the SE01's price, the T800's payload and local support are all missing. If you want to get oriented on prices and classes, start with “How Much Does a Humanoid Robot Cost in 2026” and compare the EngineAI T800 with the Unitree G1. Once the SE01's price, the T800's payload and a Polish partner appear, the topic is worth reopening, and only then worth calculating return on investment.
