Founded in 2019 in Metzingen, Germany, Neura Robotics is one of the best-funded robotics startups in the country: it has raised a total of $1.4 billion at a valuation that press reports put at $4.3-7 billion and employs around 1,100 people. Its portfolio splits into two cobot families.

MAiRA is a 7-axis arm with a 12-18 kg payload, an integrated 3D camera and AI-based object recognition, positioned as a "cognitive cobot." LARA is a lighter, faster general-purpose line offered in nine sizes and payloads from 3 to 30 kg. The company is also developing the 4NE-1 humanoid.

In sheer funding, Neura clearly outclasses most European rivals in the cobot segment; among the companies covered here, no comparably capitalized European competitor comes to mind. The manufacturer has not yet published details of a distributor in Poland or prices for individual MAiRA and LARA models.

History and development

David Reger founded Neura Robotics on March 26, 2019, in Metzingen, Baden-Württemberg. The company started out as Han's Robot Germany GmbH and took the name Neura Robotics in November 2020. Reger had previously built up the robotics division of the Swiss company Mabi AG. The first cobot, LARA (Lightweight Agile Robotic Assistant), arrived in 2020, the cognitive MAiRA followed in 2021, and the 4NE-1 humanoid was unveiled as a concept in 2022. Growth came through successive funding rounds: $86 million in 2021, $55 million in July 2023, and a EUR 120 million Series B in January 2025, after which headcount doubled to more than 300. In May 2025 the company acquired B.A.H. Industrial Solutions and founded Neura Electronics; in June 2025 it showed the third-generation 4NE-1 humanoid at Automatica, and in October it took over ek robotics, an AGV maker. In December it opened a hub in Zurich, and in January 2026 it announced a partnership with Bosch to industrialize humanoids. In June 2026 it closed a Series C of roughly $1.4 billion, with investors including Tether, Qualcomm, Amazon, Nvidia, Bosch and Schaeffler, at a valuation of about $7 billion according to press reports; headcount passed 1,100. Europe has no good comparison for that kind of growth.

Portfolio

Neura's portfolio rests on three pillars. The first is MAiRA, the "cognitive cobot," a 7-axis arm with a 3D camera and AI object recognition: Neura MAiRA S (18 kg payload, 1,100 mm reach, about EUR 37,500) and Neura MAiRA M (3D camera, 1,400 mm reach, about EUR 39,500 net). The second is LARA, the classic, lighter line without AI perception, offered in nine variants; we list Neura LARA 8 (8 kg, 1,300 mm reach, about EUR 21,900 net). The third is the 4NE-1 humanoids: NEURA 4NE-1 Gen 3.5 (180 cm, 80 kg, about EUR 98,000, deliveries from late 2026) and the smaller NEURA 4NE-1 Mini (132 cm, 36 kg, 25 DOF, about EUR 19,999, reservation for EUR 100, deliveries postponed). It is a small but varied lineup of five models. According to our catalog, the Gen 3.5 humanoid uses an NVIDIA chip and has sensor skin; more on such chips in NVIDIA Jetson. Market position

In capital terms Neura leaves most European rivals behind: its Series C reached up to $1.4 billion at a valuation of about $7 billion (earlier reports cited $4.3 billion). It is hard to name a comparably funded competitor in Europe. In cobots it competes with Universal Robots, Franka Robotics and Agile Robots SE, and in humanoids with Figure AI, Agility Robotics and Apptronik. Partnerships with Bosch, Schaeffler, Amazon and AWS point to a strategy of selling robots to industry together with components and cloud services. The risk is the gap between ambition and deliveries: humanoid delivery dates have slipped, and MAiRA S is, by our catalog, roughly twice as expensive as the AUBO i16. A caveat: the figures on funding rounds and valuation come from company announcements and press reports, including Bloomberg's reporting on negotiations, and may still differ depending on the source.

Presence in Poland

Neura has not yet announced a distributor in Poland or prices in Polish zlotys; the prices listed are conversions from euros. None of the five models has confirmed sales in Poland, and we have found no named deployments or universities. That is an honest gap, and we will fill it if the company opens a channel in Poland. If you are interested, contact the manufacturer directly; it is also worth a look at “Polish Robotics Companies” and “How Much Does a Humanoid Robot Cost in 2026”. We also know of no Polish integrators who confirm working with Neura; if you know of one, write to the editors.

Editorial verdict

Neura is an interesting brand for large industrial companies and institutes that want to work with a German supplier of AI robotics. For a Polish integrator today, though, availability and service matter more than vision: without a local partner, it remains a watching brief for now. Who it suits: large plants, research institutes and investors tracking where European robotics is heading. If you need a cobot here and now, compare it with the offerings from UR, FANUC and Doosan, which have Polish distributors.
