The S variant of the MAiRA line is the shortest in reach but the strongest in payload of the family: 1,100 mm of reach at 18 kg payload, seven axes, and the same perception features as the other MAiRAs: a built-in 3D camera plus object recognition and voice interaction based on the Neura Cognitive Platform.

The price according to dealer aggregation is 37,500 euros net (about PLN 164,138 (≈ EUR 37,550) at the 27 Sept 2026 rate), not confirmed directly on the manufacturer's website. The compact geometry makes the MAiRA S attractive where gripping strength matters within a limited workspace, for example at palletizing stations.

Compared with a conventional cobot of similar payload such as the AUBO i16, the MAiRA S costs clearly more; the data suggest as much as roughly double the price, a direct consequence of the added AI-perception layer that the AUBO does not offer. Its strength is therefore a unique set of recognition features, and its weakness a high price relative to payload compared with classic competitors.

The model is aimed at industry and research, mainly where human-robot interaction requires additional sensory intelligence. Sales and support in Poland have not been confirmed.

Running and deployment costs

Purchase: EUR 37,500 net, or about PLN 164,138 at the 4.3770 rate of 1 October 2026. This is the price according to a seller comparison, not verified directly in the original store. The price is clearly higher than the AUBO i16; the difference is explained by the AI-perception layer. As a rough estimate, after adding a gripper, mounting and integration, a running workstation can cost tens of percent more than the arm alone. Accessories of this class are supplied by OnRobot and Robotiq. Operation: energy is a small cost; service and updates are worth discussing before purchase. Training: because of the AI elements it takes more time than with a classic cobot. Funding: Poland's robotization tax relief (ulga na robotyzację), described in “Poland's Robotization Tax Relief”, applies to you; how to calculate payback is shown in “Humanoid Robot TCO: How to Calculate Total Cost”, and the purchasing sequence in “How to Buy a Cobot Step by Step”.

Applications

What it's for

Shorter arm, more strength. Neura MAiRA S is the highest-payload model of the MAiRA family in our catalog: 18 kg of payload at 1,100 mm of reach and seven axes. Like the other MAiRAs it has a built-in 3D camera plus object recognition and voice interaction based on the Neura Cognitive Platform. To be upfront, the 18 kg value and the 1,100 mm reach were not clearly confirmed on the official Neura Robotics website at the last check. The compact geometry pays off where space is tight. A higher payload with built-in vision makes sense for palletizing (recognizing how the next item lies) and for moving heavier parts between machines, where an ordinary cobot with a payload of a few kilograms is not enough. The second area is demonstrations with voice commands and research on human-robot interaction. The manufacturer points above all to industry and research. This is not a robot for catering or the home; machines described in “Service robots” suit such tasks better. The basics of how cobots work are explained in “What Is a Cobot and How Does It Differ from an Industrial Robot”, and what seven axes mean is shown in “Degrees of Freedom (DOF) in Humanoid Robots”. Industrial uses are collected under “Factories and manufacturing” and warehouses.

Typical applications

  • cognitive automation
  • Human-robot interaction

Who it's for

Who it's for: plants that need higher payload in a small space and want vision included. R&D departments experimenting with voice interaction and object recognition.

Who it's not for: those who look at price per kilogram of payload; our catalog shows the MAiRA S costs up to about twice as much as a classic AUBO i16. Not for companies without integrator support, because the AI elements require implementation. Not for buyers in Poland who expect local service: sales and support have not been confirmed.

Deployments

The manufacturer points to an industrial and research direction and works with Bosch, but that is not a customer list for a specific machine. In this category, see cobots and the description of domestic integrators in “Polish Robotics Companies”.

Comparison

UR7e is a well-known alternative: smaller payload (7.5 kg), six axes, no built-in perception. Its price is not disclosed in our catalog. Our comparison suggests that for repetitive, well-defined tasks it is the cheaper and proven choice.

AUBO i16 at about PLN 91,917 (≈ EUR 21,030) is the simplest path to a high payload for less money; perception has to be bought separately.

UR10e at around PLN 159,640 (≈ EUR 36,520) offers an ecosystem and a broad base of integrators. From the same maker's family, also consider Neura MAiRA M when reach matters more than strength.

History

The MAiRA family is the flagship product of Neura Robotics, a company founded in 2019 in Metzingen. After a 120 million euro Series B round (January 2025), the company acquired B.A.H. Industrial Solutions and built up a base in the form of Neura Electronics. In June 2025 it showed the third-generation 4NE-1 humanoid at the Automatica trade fair, and in June 2026 it closed a Series C of around USD 1.4 billion. Our catalog gives no launch date for the S variant. The significance of the MAiRA line is that the manufacturer combined a cobot and a cognitive platform into one product; a comparison with the UR7e can be found in the comparisons on the model page. The company's humanoid direction is described in NEURA 4NE-1 Gen 3.5.
