Shanghai-based JAKA Robotics, founded in 2014, offers the Zu series of cobots (3–35 kg payload, six axes, wireless programming by hand-guiding) and the Pro series, including the Pro 12 with IP68 ingress protection.

The company claims roughly 8 percent of the European cobot market and deliveries to Toyota plants worldwide, which puts it in the same league as Universal Robots and Doosan Robotics, though without their brand recognition in Central Europe.

In Europe distribution is handled by Hungary's Elvotec, covering Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia and the Czech Republic; no dedicated distributor for Poland has been confirmed, so this needs to be checked directly with JAKA's European sales office. Four models are covered here: Pro 12, Zu 12, Zu 3 and Zu 7. Funding and headcount are not disclosed.

History and development

JAKA Robotics was founded in Shanghai in 2014 and has focused on cobots, collaborative robots that can be taught a task without writing code, simply by guiding the arm by hand. That idea grew into the Zu series: six axes, wireless hand-guided programming and a payload starting at 3 kg (sources put the upper limit anywhere between 18 and 35 kg). The Pro series followed, including the Pro 12 with IP68 ingress protection. The company claims about 8 percent of the European cobot market and deliveries to Toyota plants worldwide; these are the manufacturer's own claims, not independent measurements. We have no data on funding or headcount, nor on launch dates for individual models. In Europe sales run through regional partners: Hungary's Elvotec covers Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia and the Czech Republic. The basics of this class of machine are explained in “What Is a Cobot and How Does It Differ from an Industrial Robot”, and the standards they must meet in “Robot Safety Standards”. One curiosity is that sources disagree on the upper payload limit of the Zu series, so always check the datasheet of the specific model before ordering.

Portfolio

We cover three models here. JAKA Zu 7 is a cobot with a 7 kg payload and 819 mm reach; the price of about $15,000, or roughly PLN 58,140 (≈ EUR 13,320 at NBP rate 4.3641 of 21 October 2026), comes from an aggregator that itself carries the caveat “0 verified prices,” so treat it as a rough guide only. JAKA Zu 12 carries 12 kg with a reach of 1,327 mm and weighs 41 kg; it suits palletizing and larger parts that the lighter Zu 3 and Zu 7 cannot handle. JAKA Pro 12 is a reinforced, waterproof IP68 version with a 12 kg payload that works in washdown and dirty conditions, which is rare in this class. Its reach, repeatability and price have not been confirmed by the manufacturer. All models are covered under “Cobots”. The Zu 7 and Zu 12 share the same six-axis layout within the family, so they differ mainly in reach and payload. For completeness, the family also includes a lighter Zu 3, which still awaits its own write-up. All three models have six axes and electric drives, so the choice comes down to payload, reach and environmental resistance.

Market position

JAKA positions itself in the same league as Universal Robots and Doosan Robotics, but lacks their brand recognition in Central Europe. Its argument is price, since Chinese cobots are usually cheaper, plus a broad installed base that makes it easier to find experienced integrators. In the mid-payload segment it is compared with Kassow Robots, whose KR1410 has a 1,400 mm reach and seven axes with a built-in force sensor, so it works better in tight workstations; the Zu 12 wins on payload. Other Chinese rivals include AUBO Robotics and Dobot. The weaknesses are price uncertainty and the lack of a single official sales channel in Poland. The purchasing rules worth knowing before you talk to a supplier are in “How to Buy a Cobot Step by Step”. The company's claimed 8 percent of the European market and its deliveries to Toyota are its strongest sales arguments, though both need to be verified with distributors.

Presence in Poland

No dedicated distributor for Poland has been confirmed. Elvotec, JAKA's European partner, covers Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia and the Czech Republic, but not the Polish market. The Pro 12 is offered by a European distributor, Pronet-connected. An interested customer should ask JAKA's European sales office for an authorized partner and service provider, and check whether their own integrator has access to the brand. How to calculate return on investment: “Humanoid Robot TCO: How to Calculate Total Cost”. It is worth checking whether a Polish integrator has experience with this brand in your specific application. Send the inquiry in writing and ask for a list of partners in Central Europe.

Editorial verdict

JAKA is a solid, cheaper cobot with broad European experience and a claimed market share. The Pro 12 with IP68 has a rare feature, and the Zu 12 suits palletizing well. Buyers in Poland, however, must work out the sales channel and the price themselves, because neither is yet on the table. A reasonable recommendation: ask for a quote, but do not decide based on aggregators.
