The LARA 8 is the mid-payload model in Germany's Neura Robotics nine-member LARA cobot family: 48 kg dead weight, 1,300 mm reach and 8 kg payload. The whole LARA line spans variants from 3 to 30 kg of payload, optionally available in IP54 or IP66 ingress protection and with PLd Category 3/SIL2 safety certification.
The price is about 21,900 euros net, though it has not been confirmed directly on the manufacturer's website. Among cobots with similar payload, the LARA 8 competes with the Universal Robots UR10e, which is well established but lacks the broad range of size variants that Neura offers.
LARA's strength is precisely that breadth: nine variants covering almost any payload and reach scenario in a single product family. Its weakness, compared with the same maker's pricier MAiRA line, is the absence of built-in AI perception: the LARA 8 is a classic industrial cobot with no 3D camera or object recognition. Availability in Poland has not been confirmed.

Running and deployment costs
Purchase: EUR 21,900 net, or about PLN 95,856 at the 4.3770 rate of 1 October 2026. This is a dealer-aggregator price, so treat it as indicative and ask for a quote. On top of that come the gripper, mounting, possibly a camera, and integration. As a rough estimate, a complete workstation can cost from one and a half to two and a half times as much as the arm alone, depending on the task; that is our assessment, not manufacturer data. Accessories are supplied by companies including OnRobot, Robotiq and ATI Industrial Automation. Operation: a cobot draws little power, so energy costs are small compared with an operator's salary. Service in Poland is not confirmed, so in your calculation it is worth allowing for a contract with an integrator and spare parts. Training: the basics of programming can be learned in a few days, but making good use of the robot in production takes weeks of practice. Funding: you can use Poland's robotization tax relief (ulga na robotyzację), described in “Poland's Robotization Tax Relief”. Return-on-investment calculation is easier with “Humanoid Robot TCO: How to Calculate Total Cost”, and the purchasing process is described in “How to Buy a Cobot Step by Step”.

Applications
What it's for
Neura LARA 8 is a classic general-purpose cobot from the LARA family, offered in nine variants by Germany's Neura Robotics: it has 8 kg of payload, 1,300 mm of reach and weighs 48 kg. The manufacturer offers the whole line from 3 to 30 kg, optionally with IP54 or IP66 ingress protection and with PLd Category 3 / SIL2 safety certification. Its biggest asset is long reach at a sensible payload. The typical class of tasks for such an arm is machine tending (loading and unloading parts), packing products into cartons at the end of a line, and stations that have to be moved around often; a light cobot without a safety cage suits these better than a large industrial robot. You will find more on such tasks in factories and warehouses. An important caveat: unlike the MAiRA models from the same stable, LARA has no built-in 3D camera or object recognition. It is a classic robot that repeats a programmed path, and vision has to be bought separately. If you want a cobot that recognizes unordered parts on its own, go to Neura MAiRA M. Many users will see this as an advantage: a simpler robot means a lower price and fewer things that can break. The basics of how such machines work are covered in “What Is a Cobot and How Does It Differ from an Industrial Robot”, and selection criteria in “How to Read a Robot Datasheet”.
Typical applications
Who it's for
Who it's for: medium-sized manufacturers that want to automate machine tending or packing and value a wide range of variants within one family. Integrators who need different payloads from a single supplier and want to keep one unified programming system. Companies that care about a European manufacturer and PLd safety certification.
Who it's not for: anyone who expects a cobot to understand images without extra work; you will need an external vision system or the pricier MAiRA line. We also don't recommend it to those who need confirmed delivery and service in Poland. If you care about a proven ecosystem of accessories, UR10e has a longer track record here.
Deployments
We also have no named LARA 8 installations worldwide. What is known is that the manufacturer is building cooperation with large industrial partners: in January 2026 it announced a partnership with Bosch on industrializing humanoids, and Schaeffler and Bosch are among its investors. That is not, however, a customer list for this cobot. If you want to see what a cobot in this class looks like in Polish factories, start with cobots and the article “Doosan Robotics: Cobots from the Korean Maker in Poland”.

Comparison
There are several routes, depending on budget and needs.
UR10e is the reference point for this payload class: well established, with a huge ecosystem, but without as wide a range of size variants as the LARA family. See the comparison in “Universal Robots UR5e, UR10e and UR20 Compared”.
AUBO i16 costs about PLN 91,917 (≈ EUR 21,060) in our catalog, which is less than the LARA 8 after conversion. It has a higher payload, so it is often chosen where price per kilogram matters.
KUKA LBR iisy 3 R760 is a European brand with a strong position in industry, at about PLN 102,619 (≈ EUR 23,510). It has less reach, but comes with years of integrator experience. If you want a camera included, look at Neura MAiRA S.

History
Neura Robotics was founded in 2019 in Metzingen, Germany, and within a few years became one of the best-capitalized robotics startups in Europe. In January 2025 it raised 120 million euros in a Series B round, and in June 2026 it closed a Series C of around USD 1.4 billion with participation from Qualcomm, Amazon, Nvidia and Bosch, among others. The company is also developing the 4NE-1 humanoid, whose third generation it showed at Automatica 2025. The LARA line itself is the older, simpler cobot family on which the company built its customer base. The launch date of the LARA 8 itself is not published, so we do not state one. For context on the maker's family, see Neura MAiRA M and Neura MAiRA S.
