The smallest member of Doosan Robotics' broad M (Masterpiece) series, the M0609 offers a 6 kg payload at 900 mm reach and six degrees of freedom with torque sensors in every joint - an architecture shared with the rest of the M family.
Its compact size makes it a candidate for assembly stations and pick-and-place in tight workspaces where larger cobots from the same family (for example the M1013 with 1,300 mm reach) do not fit.
In the market of cobots with similar payload it competes mainly with the Universal Robots UR5e and the Techman TM5, though without verified technical data on those models a direct comparison of speed or repeatability is hard.
The M0609's strength is its membership of Doosan's broad, unified programming platform (the same interface as in the H and P series), which makes it easier to grow a cobot fleet without additional training. The weak point remains the lack of an open price - the manufacturer does not publish a price list, and quotes are made individually by the distributor.
In Poland the model is sold by Transition Technologies-CS under the coboty-doosan.pl brand. A fit for smaller assembly lines and plants that already invest in the Doosan ecosystem and want unified software across several stations.

Running and deployment costs
The M0609 has no published price; the manufacturer does not give a price list, and the distributor quotes on request. So there is no price-list figure.
For an order of magnitude, as an estimate: a 6 kg cobot is usually several tens of thousands of euros for the arm with controller, and a complete station with a gripper (for example from Robotiq or OnRobot), a table, guarding resulting from the risk assessment and integration costs a multiple of that. This is not an offer, just a hint not to compare arms alone.
Running costs: energy is low, and servicing and a possible gripper replacement matter more. Add programmer and operator training to the budget at the start; the common Doosan platform shortens it for further stations.
Poland's robotization tax relief (ulga na robotyzację): an additional deduction of up to 50% of eligible costs, though under current rules 2026 is the last year and an extension has been announced by the Ministry of Finance. More on the relief: “Poland's Robotization Tax Relief”. Purchase step by step: “How to Buy a Cobot Step by Step”.

Applications
What it's for
The M0609 is the smallest member of the M series, meant for narrow stations where a large arm would not fit. The Doosan M0609 has a 6 kg payload, 900 mm reach and six degrees of freedom with torque sensors in each joint. The stated tasks are assembly and pick-and-place.
In a factory (factory) it suits assembling small subassemblies, inserting parts into fixtures, transferring parts between a belt and a pallet, and tending a small machine. The manufacturer, Doosan Robotics, counts the M series among general-purpose solutions, and the M0609 is its most compact variant, so it performs well where station footprint is limited.
The platform argument is interesting too: the M series shares its programming environment with the H and P series, so a plant that starts with a small M0609 can later add heavier models without retraining the crew. For a plant with a single cobot that matters less; for a company planning a fleet, quite a lot.
In a laboratory an arm of a similar class is sometimes used to move samples. The manufacturer does not confirm this use for the M0609. The general rules of human-arm collaboration are described in “Robot Safety Standards”, and an introduction to the topic in “What Is a Cobot and How Does It Differ from an Industrial Robot”.
Typical applications
Who it's for
A good fit: small and medium-sized plants with tight stations, light parts up to 6 kg (including the gripper) and a plan to expand cobots on a common platform. A good starting point for a company that wants to enter automation with a local distributor: Transition Technologies-CS (coboty-doosan.pl).
Who it doesn't: those who need more reach - then look at the Doosan M1013 or the Doosan M0617. Nor is it for heavy tasks: at a nominal 6 kg little remains once the gripper is subtracted. Be careful with tasks demanding a high cycle speed, because working next to people inherently limits it.
The data give no own weight or price. Before you plan the station, ask for the datasheet and see what is missing - how to do that is described in “How to Read a Robot Datasheet”.
Deployments
No confirmed deployments in Poland and no international references.
What can be backed by sources for the category: Doosan cobots are available in Poland through the distributor, and typical sectors are automotive, electronics and food processing; tasks include assembly, CNC tending, packing and palletizing (according to “Doosan Robotics: Cobots from the Korean Maker in Poland”). Competing models work in the same payload class too, but that is not an M0609 reference.
Instead of looking for photos of deployments, ask the distributor for a demo on your own part. A map of Polish robotics companies: “Polish Robotics Companies”.
Comparison
The UR5e from Universal Robots is the most common rival: 5 kg, 850 mm reach, ±0.03 mm, a force sensor at the flange, the PolyScope screen. It has the largest accessory and integrator ecosystem.
The Techman TM5-700 has a 6 kg payload and 700 mm reach; as standard the manufacturer offers built-in vision, which eases tasks involving part recognition. Less reach than the M0609.
The KUKA LBR iisy 6 R1300 is 6 kg and 1,300 mm reach from the German brand; the simplified iisy family is described as cheaper to deploy than the iiwa. More reach, a different ecosystem.
The Doosan A0509 from the A series is lighter (21 kg), has a 5 kg payload, ±0.03 mm and draws 370 W - if 6 kg is not necessary, it is the simpler option within the same family.
The family is explained in “Doosan Robotics: Cobots from the Korean Maker in Poland”, and the URs in “Universal Robots UR5e, UR10e and UR20 Compared”.

History
Doosan Robotics was founded in 2015 in Suwon, South Korea, within the Doosan group. In 2023 the company listed on the KOSPI exchange. It offers five series: A, E, M, H and P.
The M (Masterpiece) series is the general-purpose series, and the M0609 is its smallest member. The manufacturer describes the M1013 as the best-selling model in the series, which shows where the center of gravity of the range lies.
We have no launch date for the M0609. In Poland the brand is represented by Transition Technologies-Control Solutions (coboty-doosan.pl); sources give different start years, 2021 or 2022. The wider picture: cobots.
