Available in PolandThe UR5e is the mid-size model of Universal Robots' Danish e-Series: a six-axis arm with a 5 kg payload and an 850 mm reach, with a built-in force/torque sensor (range ±50 N / ±10 Nm) on the tool flange and a 12-inch PolyScope touchscreen. The arm weighs 20.6 kg, positioning repeatability is ±0.03 mm per ISO 9283, maximum TCP speed is 4 m/s, and the ingress protection rating is IP54 (control cabinet IP44).
The built-in force sensor lets you run polishing, screwdriving or assembly without buying separate external sensors. In this payload class it competes directly with the FANUC CRX-5iA (5 kg) and the smaller Techman TM5-900 (4 kg); compared with the CRX-5iA, it stands out for its longer track record and wider integrator ecosystem, at the price of somewhat lower housing durability.
The manufacturer does not publish a single price list: a third-party aggregator gives an entry threshold of 'from 35,000 USD', while the German distributor mybotshop.de prices it at 29,155 EUR net (about 127,611 PLN after conversion). In Poland it is available through elmark.com.pl.
The UR5e works well in medium-batch production, electronics and packaging, where the agility of the workstation matters more than maximum payload.
Entry price 'from USD 35,000' per a third-party aggregator (2026); there is no official UR list price, and sales go only through distributors with individual quotes. EUR 29,155.00 per mybotshop.de (a German reseller's net price, combined UR5/UR5e offer, retrieved 29 September 2026; the reseller's page does not show a price date).
The UR5e has no single manufacturer price list. There are two reference points: a third-party portal gives an entry threshold of 'from 35,000 USD', and the German distributor mybotshop.de prices the UR5e at 29,155 EUR net (a combined UR5/UR5e offer), that is about 127,611 PLN at a rate of 4.3770 from 1 October 2026. These are prices of the arm with its controller, not of a finished cell.
Costs beyond the robot are given only as an order of magnitude, as a rough estimate: the gripper, base, safeguards and integration can add anywhere from a few dozen percent up to the whole price of the arm, depending on the application. Operation is cheap: the robot draws mains power, with no battery and no consumable tools. Training is usually a few days and depends on the distributor's offer; in Poland the robot is offered by elmark.com.pl. Poland's robotization tax relief (ulga na robotyzację) can reduce the tax base if the expense meets the conditions (see “Poland's Robotization Tax Relief”). How to calculate the return on investment step by step is explained in “Humanoid Robot TCO: How to Calculate Total Cost”. Ask the distributor for a formal quote, because prices vary widely depending on the package.

The UR5e is a six-axis arm with a 5 kg payload and an 850 mm reach. In machine tending, for example at an injection molding machine or a machining center, it removes a part, puts it on a pallet and loads a new blank, and since typical applications do not need a protective cage, it takes up minimal space. The manufacturer lists four main areas: assembly, pick&place, machine tending (feeding parts) and quality inspection.
The heart of this model is the built-in force/torque sensor on the tool flange, with a range of ±50 N and ±10 Nm. Thanks to it the UR5e can screw, lap, polish and fit components, tasks that require a feel for pressure rather than position alone. The arm has a repeatability of ±0.03 mm per ISO 9283, a TCP speed of up to 4 m/s and IP54 protection, so it tolerates the dusty environment of a typical shop floor. In electronics it handles assembly and testing, in packaging it places products into cartons, and in small metalworking firms it loads machines.
Limitations? The robot weighs 20.6 kg, so it can be moved between stations on a cart, but not "in your pocket". The 5 kg payload includes the gripper, so with heavy parts you have to move up to the UR10e (12.5 kg). In a factory the UR5e is the natural choice when versatility matters; in a laboratory it is useful for automating research; in quality control it holds a camera or a probe. We write more about the differences across the whole family in “Universal Robots UR5e, UR10e and UR20 Compared”.
Yes: for plants with medium batch sizes that must change the robot's task often, since the PolyScope controller with a 12-inch touchscreen makes programming easier. Yes: for electronics manufacturers and packing firms where workstation agility matters. Yes: for integrators who want a broad accessory ecosystem.
No: for firms with heavy parts and grippers exceeding a few kilograms. No: for users looking for the lowest price, since competition from Asia is at times clearly cheaper (see JAKA Zu 7). No: for those who have nobody to handle integration; a cobot alone does not solve the problem without a gripper and safeguards. Before you decide, go through “How to Buy a Cobot Step by Step” and check the requirements in “Robot Safety Standards”.
No confirmed deployments in Poland. The model is available through the distributor elmark.com.pl, which means it can be ordered and commissioned locally. From the category “Cobots”, the most frequently described applications are electronics assembly, packing and machine tending, exactly what the UR5e does. If you are looking for references, ask the distributor for a contact at a company from your industry; that is a faster route than general reports.
Universities buy research platforms: the Unitree G1 humanoid from USD 13,500, the Franka arm for about EUR 25,000, and the open SO-101 in parts for about USD 230.
What works in factories today is mainly cobots, mobile robots and classic industrial robots; humanoids are still at the pilot stage.
FANUC CRX-5iA: also a 5 kg payload; in the comparison, UR wins on time in the market and the integrator ecosystem, while FANUC wins on housing durability.
Techman TM5-700: a 6 kg payload, so slightly more reserve than the UR5e; a good point of comparison when pricing.
Doosan A0509: a 5 kg payload, a brand increasingly considered in Poland (see “Doosan Robotics: Cobots from the Korean Maker in Poland”).
JAKA Zu 7: a 7 kg payload and a listed price of about 58.1 thousand PLN, roughly half the amount for the UR5e; worth it on a limited budget, but first check who will provide local service.
ABB GoFa CRB 15000: a 5 kg payload and about 148 thousand PLN; choose it if the plant's fleet is ABB robots.
The six-axis UR5e belongs to the e-Series of Universal Robots, a Danish company from Odense founded in 2005. We have no launch date for the UR5e itself or events that could be attributed to it, so we do not give them from memory. We do know that it is the mid-size model of a family complemented by the smaller UR3e, the stronger UR10e and newer designs such as the UR7e or UR20. The article “Universal Robots UR5e, UR10e and UR20 Compared” gives a broader picture of the range. For the buyer, what matters chiefly is the continuity of the ecosystem: accessories and integrator experience carry over between successive models.

The manufacturer does not publish a single price list; as a guide, from about 29,155 EUR at a distributor. It is available in Poland through elmark.com.pl.
