The 1X NEO is a consumer humanoid robot from 1X Technologies, a Norwegian-American company backed by OpenAI. It was unveiled in October 2025 (announced on 28 October 2025, not in February) and aimed squarely at households, a segment where Tesla Optimus and Figure AI do not yet offer consumer pre-orders.
NEO weighs 30 kg, has hands with 22 degrees of freedom and a claimed lifting capacity of up to 68 kg, although the manufacturer gives no figures for height or walking speed. It comes with two purchase options: a one-off price of USD 20,000 (about PLN 77,500 (≈ EUR 17,760) at the NBP rate of 1 October 2026) with a USD 200 deposit, or a USD 499 monthly subscription with a later delivery date.
The first units are due to reach customers in the US in 2026, with international expansion announced only from 2027, so NEO is not yet available in Poland and has no distributor here. Its strength is that it is the first humanoid genuinely on offer for home use. Reliability, safety and real-world autonomy in an apartment, however, remain unconfirmed by independent tests.
This is a product for early technology adopters and well-off US households, not for the Polish market at this stage.

Price and availability in Poland
Purchase option: USD 20,000 (USD 200 deposit, priority delivery in the US in 2026); alternatively a USD 499/month subscription with later delivery. Announcement date: 28 October 2025, per 1x.tech/discover/neo-home-robot and robotics247.com.
Running and deployment costs
Purchase: USD 20,000, or about PLN 77,500 (≈ EUR 17,760) at the 1 October 2026 rate of 3.8762. The deposit is USD 200 (about PLN 775 (≈ EUR 180)). The alternative is a subscription of USD 499 a month (about PLN 1,934 (≈ EUR 445)) with a later delivery date. A simple calculation shows that after roughly 40 months the sum of the payments equals the purchase price, so the subscription mainly makes sense as a way in without a large outlay. Expect additional costs that the manufacturer does not state: possible customs duty and 23% VAT on import, servicing, insurance and electricity. We have no data on running costs. Training at home comes down to configuration, since the robot is meant to respond to voice commands. For a realistic calculation, use the method from “Humanoid Robot TCO: How to Calculate Total Cost” and compare it with the prices in “How Much Does a Humanoid Robot Cost in 2026”.

Applications
What it's for
A home, not a factory floor. That is the key thing to know about the 1X NEO: 1X Technologies designs it for apartments and houses, not assembly lines. The manufacturer's materials and press coverage keep returning to a set of tasks anyone knows from their own kitchen: folding laundry, loading the dishwasher, handing over objects, helping with cooking. This is the set of tasks 1X presents as the point of the product in the home category. The second role in the product description is “companionship”: the robot is meant to hold conversations using the company's own language model and respond to voice commands. But we should stick to the facts. According to independent reports, harder tasks are sometimes carried out with the help of a remote operator, so full autonomy is not confirmed. This matters for privacy, because a machine with cameras and microphones is entering the home; we cover this in more detail in “Data Security: Robots with Cameras and the GDPR”. Outside the home, NEO has no documented role. There is no version for hotels, warehouses or schools, and the company has announced no such plans. Anyone looking for a humanoid for a factory should look at the humanoid robots category and the article “Humanoid Robots in Factories 2026”; anyone who wants to see how such a machine works at all should read “How Does a Humanoid Robot Work”.
Typical applications
Who it's for
Who benefits: well-off technology enthusiasts, mainly in the US, who want to be among the first users of a home humanoid and accept the risks of an early-stage product. People who like trying new things and don't mind that some tasks may be supported remotely. Those who are after an interesting experience rather than an immediate return on investment.
Who should skip it: Polish households at this stage, because NEO is not available here and has no Polish distributor; the manufacturer announces international expansion only from 2027. Not for companies looking for a robot to work shifts, as there is no evidence of that kind of reliability. Not for people who do not want cameras and microphones in their home. Not for anyone who needs safety parameters confirmed by independent testing, because no such tests exist yet.
If you are wondering whether it is worth buying a humanoid at all right now, compare the whole market in the overview “Humanoid Robot Market Forecasts”.
Deployments
The company's materials still describe the first shipments in the future tense: priority deliveries in the US in 2026. The only demand signal on record is the commitment by the EQT fund for its portfolio companies to buy up to 10,000 units between 2026 and 2030; that is a declaration, not a fulfilled order. In the home category there are other projects to watch, such as the Weave Isaac 1 at USD 7,999 on pre-order and the Figure 03, the home variant of the Figure 03, at the prototype stage. If you want to compare ideas for the home without a humanoid form, see the Amazon Astro.

Comparison
If NEO is out of reach or doesn't fit, here are three realistic directions.
The 1X NEO is the same family in the version 1X describes technically and sells as NEO; it is the closer spec sheet, so it is worth comparing both pages.
The Sunday Robotics Memo is a home robot with the same declared price of about USD 20,000, but it is at the pilot stage and is likewise not available in Poland; it is an interesting reference point for the whole category.
The Unitree G1 costs USD 13,500 (about PLN 52,329 (≈ EUR 11,990)) and is available in Poland, but it is a research and education platform, not a domestic helper. Choose it when you want a humanoid for learning programming, not for cleaning.
You will find the full list of home robots in the home robots category. If you would rather get into the topic more cheaply, also check the Unitree R1 at USD 4,900; it will not replace a household helper, but it lets you learn to work with a humanoid for a fraction of the money.
