With the UR15, taking orders in May 2025 and starting deliveries in June 2025, Universal Robots introduced the fastest cobot in its history: tool center point (TCP) speed reaches 5 m/s. The payload is 15 kg, rising to 17.5 kg with the wrist pointing down, the typical orientation for palletizing. The manufacturer claims cycle times up to 30% shorter than other UR models in pick-and-place tasks.

The robot has 6 degrees of freedom and a force/torque sensor at the tool end, which preserves the brand's standard collaboration with humans without safety cages in typical scenarios. The price is not publicly disclosed by the manufacturer. In Poland the UR15 is offered by the same distributors as the other e-Series models, elmark.com.pl.

Against the UR12e (12.5 kg, slower) and the UR16e (16 kg, a 2019 design), the UR15 stands out mainly for speed, not maximum payload, making it the right choice where line throughput matters more than extreme capacity. There is no independently verified data on real-world service life under continuous operation at maximum speed.

Running and deployment costs

The UR15 price is not publicly disclosed by the manufacturer, and distributors in Poland give a quote after discussing the configuration. As reference points, other UR models in our figures serve: the UR5e at 127,611.00 PLN (≈ EUR 29,240) and the UR10e at 159,645.00 PLN (≈ EUR 36,580). Roughly, the UR15, as a newer and higher-performance design, will cost more than the UR10e, but that is our assessment, not a price list.

Add to the arm's price a gripper matched to cartons or parts (for palletizing often a vacuum gripper), safeguarding and the integrator's work. Roughly, the total cost of a workstation is often about twice the price of the robot alone. In operation the biggest item is usually not electricity but service and downtime, so ask about a service contract. Training the operator and a maintenance person is more days of work. Poland's robotization tax relief (ulga na robotyzację) allows an additional 50% deduction of qualifying costs, covering the robot purchase, tooling and training; it is limited to expenses from 2022-2026, so verify the current legal position.

Applications

What it's for

The UR15 was built so that the cobot would stop being “the slower one.” Its tool center point (TCP) speed reaches 5 m/s, which the manufacturer calls the fastest cobot in the company's history, and in pick-and-place tasks it claims a cycle time up to 30% shorter than other UR models. The payload is 15 kg, rising to 17.5 kg with the wrist pointing down, the typical palletizing orientation. The robot has six degrees of freedom and a force/torque sensor at the tool end.

The UR15 was designed for palletizing and fast transfer of items from belt to belt, that is, the end of a packing line. A high-speed robot keeps up with the rhythm of the line and needs no cage if the risk assessment confirms it.

In a warehouse it fits sorting parcels onto roller feeders, in a factory moving parts between stations. A slower machine would close the bottleneck, a faster one meets the takt time requirements.

A caveat: we have no independently verified data on service life under continuous operation at maximum speed. The manufacturer's cycle-time claims are a starting point for a test on your own part, not a guarantee.

Typical applications

  • Pick & place
  • Palletizing

Who it's for

The UR15 is worth considering at plants where throughput decides profitability: palletizing on a fast line, bulk packing, moving parts at the rhythm of a machine. For such tasks the UR15 is a natural candidate, and availability through elmark.com.pl makes buying easier.

It is not a choice for everyone. If your task does not require speed, you pay for a parameter you will not use, and the UR12e or UR16e will be better. If loads exceed 17.5 kg, you need the UR20 or UR30. High speed also demands a more careful safety analysis of the workstation, which increases the integrator's work. For a small workshop without continuous production it is usually overkill.

Deployments

We have no confirmed UR15 deployments in Poland. The model has been sold since June 2025 and, as far as we know, no company has yet published a sourced description of an installation in the country.

In the category of cobots for palletizing and fast pick-and-place the situation is better: similar tasks are carried out by UR, FANUC, Doosan and Techman cobots at Polish distributors. We describe them in our articles on cobots and in the section on robots at Polish plants.

Comparison

Closest within the UR family is UR12e: 12.5 kg, longer reach, but clearly slower. If speed is not the priority and price and reach matter, it is a sensible step down. UR16e has a 16 kg payload at 900 mm reach and six years on the market, which for integrators means plenty of proven accessories. UR20 raises the load to 20 kg and has a reach of 1,750 mm.

From outside Universal Robots, take a look at the Doosan M1509, which matches the UR15 in payload at 15 kg but has a 900 mm reach and the local integrator coboty-doosan.pl, and at the FANUC CRX-20iA/L with 20 kg and 1,418 mm reach for palletizing. Where loads are heavier still, the UR30 comes in. None of these models has a public price, so quotes will decide.

History

The UR15 could be ordered from May 2025, and deliveries started in June 2025. Universal Robots announced the launch together with the UR7e and UR12e as a refresh of the range, with the UR15 given the role of speed model. The company, founded in 2005 in Odense, spent years expanding its range toward ever higher payloads: the UR16e appeared in 2019, the UR20 was introduced in 2022 (on sale from 2023), and the UR30 in 2023.

What sets the UR15 apart against that backdrop is not another jump in payload but a change of priority: cycle speed is what counts. It is the first cobot in the brand's history with a TCP at 5 m/s, and with less than a year and a half since launch there is no long usage history yet.
