The UR12e is the successor to the popular UR10e, launched in May 2025 together with the UR7e and UR15 as part of a refresh of Universal Robots' lineup. The arm has a reach of 1,300 mm and a payload of 12.5 kg; the manufacturer stresses that this figure reflects real, not rounded, capacity, unlike the earlier e-Series naming.

The robot has 6 degrees of freedom and a force/torque sensor at the tool end, which allows safe collaboration with people without additional guarding in typical applications. Price data is not publicly available: the manufacturer does not state it outright, and the only information comes from a distributor announcement.

In Poland the UR12e can be bought through the authorized partners elmark.com.pl, which makes it genuinely available on the domestic market, unlike many of the humanoids in our catalog. Typical applications are palletizing and machine tending with medium and heavier loads.

Compared with the UR16e (16 kg payload, an older 2019 design), the UR12e offers a newer platform at a slightly lower payload, while against the UR15 it loses on speed but has the greater working reach.

Running and deployment costs

The manufacturer does not publish the UR12e price, and distributors quote the robot individually. So we will not give a figure that cannot be documented. A reference point in our figures is the UR10e with the same 12.5 kg payload: 159,645.00 PLN (≈ EUR 36,580), while the smaller UR5e costs 127,611.00 PLN (≈ EUR 29,240). Roughly, the UR12e falls in the same price class as the UR10e, but that is a hypothesis, not an offer.

The robot itself is usually the smaller part of the budget. The bill also includes a gripper, possibly a camera, a base or work pallet, workstation safeguarding and the integrator's labor, which roughly can double the price of the arm. In operation, energy, inspections and replacement of tooling count, as does training two or three people in operation and programming. The good news is Poland's robotization tax relief (ulga na robotyzację): it lets you deduct an additional 50% of qualifying costs, including training and tooling. It applies to expenses from 2022-2026, so check the current legal position with a tax advisor before writing it into your calculation.

Applications

What it's for

The UR12e is a cobot for medium-weight jobs: one that has to lift a carton, a part machined on a milling center or a full crate of components, without needing a safety cage. The manufacturer specifies a 12.5 kg payload, 1,300 mm reach and six degrees of freedom, and mounts a force/torque sensor on the tool end. That sensor lets the robot feel contact and stop when someone steps into its path, which is why in typical applications the workstation can be set up next to people without fencing.

In machine tending the robot takes out the finished part and puts in the raw one, while a human handles quality control and changeovers. This is the first of the two applications our catalog lists as typical.

The second is palletizing. With a 1,300 mm reach the robot covers a standard pallet with a little room to spare, and 12.5 kg lets it stack cartons of food products, household chemicals or spare parts. For heavier packaging it is better to look at the UR16e or UR20, as we explain below.

In a warehouse and in internal logistics, the UR12e works as a packing station at the end of a line. In a laboratory and in quality control it can tend measuring machines, though for pipetting itself smaller arms are better. Remember that what decides the application is the whole system: the gripper, any camera and the integrator's software, not the robot alone.

Who it's for

Who should consider the UR12e? Small and mid-sized manufacturers with repetitive machine tending or palletizing of light to medium loads who want to start with a robot that has a broad ecosystem of add-ons. The choice is made easier by the fact that Universal Robots is available in Poland through two authorized partners, elmark.com.pl, so there is no need to import the hardware from abroad.

Who is this robot not for? If your parts weigh 15 kg or more, the UR12e will have no headroom, because the gripper's mass has to be added to the payload. If throughput is the main concern, the UR15 is closer, which the manufacturer advertises as the fastest cobot in the brand's history. If you need an integrated camera as standard, look at the Techman TM12, which has one built in. Nor is it a robot for a user with no integrator or time to learn: the price of the hardware is only part of the project.

Deployments

The model has been on the market since May 2025, and we do not yet have a documented installation at a specific company.

What do we know? The UR12e can be bought in Poland through elmark.com.pl, and its typical fields of work are machine tending and palletizing. Cobots do these jobs today at manufacturing plants worldwide, and we describe Polish practice in our section on robots in Polish companies.

Comparison

It is worth starting the choice with the family. UR10e is the predecessor with the same 12.5 kg payload in our figures and a list price of about 159,645 PLN (≈ EUR 36,580), so if your integrator has it in stock and knows it inside out, it can be a reasonable route. UR15 gives 15 kg and clearly higher speed, but a shorter reach, which follows from its design.

Outside Universal Robots, the competition comes from models in our comparisons. FANUC CRX-10iA has been on the market since 2019, has a 10 kg payload and force sensing in all axes, and is available in Poland through spawalnictwo.pl. Techman TM12 carries 12 kg and has a built-in 2D vision system, which saves buying an external camera. Doosan M1013 is 10 kg with 1,300 mm reach, sold by the local integrator coboty-doosan.pl. None of them has an open price, so the comparison comes down to quotes.

History

The UR12e reached the market in May 2025, together with the UR7e and UR15, as part of a refresh of Universal Robots' range. The company from Odense, founded in 2005, added a newer generation of arms at that point. The UR12e is the direct successor to the UR10e. The manufacturer points out that the new name tells the truth about payload: 12.5 kg means exactly that, not the rounded “10” we were used to under the old naming. For buyers this means less guesswork when matching to a specific part.

We have no record of earlier generations of the UR12e itself, since the line is only just starting; continuity comes from the family, in which the UR16e dates from 2019, the UR20 from 2022 and the UR30 from 2023.
