More than 10 million completed deliveries and a presence in over 300 cities and locations: that is the record of the six-wheeled delivery robot from Estonia's Starship Technologies (Tallinn), one of the pioneers of sidewalk delivery.
The robot measures 697×569×571 mm (height×width×length, so 69.7 cm tall), weighs about 38 kg and carries up to 10 kg at speeds of up to 1.67 m/s (6 km/h), and according to the manufacturer (starship.xyz) its 1,260 Wh battery lasts up to 18 hours of operation, longer than the stated figures of its American rival Serve Robotics, although the two models target different markets.
Starship has confirmed operations in Europe: Finland, Germany, the United Kingdom and Sweden, working with partners such as Coop, REWE, S Group, Bolt, Wolt and Just Eat, but a presence in Poland has not been confirmed.
The unit price is not officially disclosed: secondary sources mention an uncertain 5,000-15,000 USD, but the company operates mainly on a delivery-as-a-service model rather than selling hardware. A solution for retail chains and delivery platforms in Western and Northern Europe weighing last-mile automation, for now outside the reach of the Polish market.

The manufacturer does not publish a unit price. Secondary sources mention an unconfirmed 5-15 thousand USD per unit, but Starship works mainly on a delivery-as-a-service model, so the customer does not buy a robot but pays for trips. Operating costs (delivery fees, maintenance, insurance, city permits) then fall to the operator. As a rough estimate, for a Polish company entering such a model would mean negotiating a service contract, not making a purchase. Training restaurant or store staff comes down to loading and collection, which takes minutes, not days. Methods for calculating costs in other categories can be found in “Humanoid Robot TCO: How to Calculate Total Cost”.

More than 10 million deliveries in over 300 cities and locations: that is what Estonia's Starship Technologies of Tallinn says about itself, and its six-wheeled robot has become a symbol of sidewalk delivery. The robot travels on sidewalks, negotiating curbs and crossings on its own. The robot measures 697×569×571 mm (height 69.7 cm), weighs 35 kg, carries up to 10 kg at up to 1.67 m/s (about 6 km/h), and its 1,260 Wh battery lasts up to 18 hours of operation according to the manufacturer. Onboard are radar and cameras. In practice it handles three kinds of jobs: food deliveries from restaurants, groceries from retail chains and parcels on campuses. The partners named by the manufacturer include Coop, REWE, S Group, Bolt, Wolt and Just Eat, and confirmed operations cover Finland, Germany, the United Kingdom and Sweden. For retail it is a way to deliver locally without a courier, see retail; for restaurants an extension of the order beyond the dining room, see restaurants; for universities a service for the campus community, see universities. The limitation is the 10 kg load and travel on sidewalks, not inside halls.
A good fit: retail chains and delivery platforms in Western and Northern Europe that want to automate the last mile without buying a fleet outright, since Starship works mainly on a delivery-as-a-service basis. Campus and housing-estate managers with even sidewalks. Cities that want to reduce courier traffic downtown. Who it does not suit: a Polish entrepreneur who wants to buy a robot tomorrow. Starship's presence in Poland has not been confirmed, and the price is not officially disclosed. Not for a warehouse or factory: robots from the category “Mobile robots (AMR)” work there. Not for parcels heavier than 10 kg, and not for places with tall stairs or uneven ground. Not for those who need a waiter robot for a dining room; that is a different class of machine, like the Pudu BellaBot.
Confirmed deployments cover Finland, Germany, the United Kingdom and Sweden, with partners such as Coop, REWE, S Group, Bolt, Wolt and Just Eat. No presence of the company in our country has been found. In Poland, similar tasks in restaurants and hotels are performed by the service robots described in “Service Robots in Restaurants and Hotels”, and in warehouses by the AMR robots from the article “AMR Robots in the Warehouse”.
The American rival is the Serve Robotics Gen 3, which focuses on the US market and whose absolute specifications the manufacturer does not publish; Starship wins on data transparency and its presence in Europe. Inside restaurants, for carrying dishes between kitchen and dining room, the Pudu BellaBot fits better (40 kg payload, about 56,205 PLN (≈ EUR 12,880 at NBP rate 4.3641 of 21 October 2026), available in Poland from several sellers). For in-plant transport there is the MiR250 with a 250 kg payload. The industrial Pudu T300 (300 kg, about 67,527 PLN (≈ EUR 15,470)) also works in a hall, not on the street. All these robots solve transport, but in a different environment: on the sidewalk, in the dining room or in the warehouse.
