Borg 01

Does a warehouse humanoid need legs at all? Borg 01 answers by switching between a bipedal and a wheeled base on its own, depending on the task. Borg Robotics, founded in Detroit in 2022, revealed the robot in April 2025. In bipedal form it stands 173 cm tall. Hot-swappable batteries are claimed by the maker to give up to 12 hours in wheeled mode.

The drivetrain centres on the in-house Actuator 02, rated at 270 Nm for 1.6 kg. End effectors are interchangeable, with a vacuum gripper, a dual gripper or a five-finger hand on offer, and the robot can optionally carry four arms. Factories and warehouses are the intended workplaces.

A launch announced for the second quarter of 2025 has not materialised, and in 2026 the company website still says only that the product is in development, without even naming the model. Weight, degrees of freedom, lifting capacity, sensors, computer and price have not been published; pricing is on request and the status is prototype.

The larger player Apollo 2 pursues the same swappable-base idea, and the Chinese DexBot likewise offers two body forms within one project.
