Summary

On 30 June 2026 Apptronik of Austin, Texas, announced Apollo 2 as the successor to its Apptronik Apollo. The biggest change is the base: the robot is modular and can run either on two legs or on a wheeled platform that, according to the maker, was designed to the safety standards for mobile industrial robots. Swappable batteries are meant to support operation seven days a week for 22 hours a day.

A chest display and an LED strip in place of a mouth handle communication. The Artemis software with Fleet Connect manages fleets, and Google DeepMind contributes its Gemini Robotics model as AI partner. Actuation comes from Apptronik's patented actuators, for which the company claims more than 90 percent energy efficiency.

Apollo 2 is in pilot use at a Mercedes-Benz plant, with the logistics provider GXO and at the company's own Robot Park in Austin. Height, weight, degrees of freedom, lifting capacity, runtime and sensors have not been published for Apollo 2, so the catalogue does not carry over first-generation figures. Pricing is on request and the status is pilot.

For European logistics buyers the Swiss ANIGON FA-L is a wheeled alternative with published joint counts.
