Richtech Robotics, listed on NASDAQ under the symbol RR, is one of the few service-robot makers in our catalog with the formal status of a public company. The Las Vegas firm says it has deployed more than 450 robots and holds 11 or more patents.
Its portfolio includes ADAM, a humanoid for preparing drinks and coffee, deployed at NVIDIA's headquarters and in Walmart stores among other places, as well as the Scorpion and Titan models, the latter working in the Mercedes-Benz of Plano showroom.
Compared with Pudu Robotics, which competes in a similar food-service segment, Richtech leans more on its public-company status and references at big brands than on a distribution network, and there is no information about any commercial presence in Poland or Europe. The founding year and headcount are not confirmed.
History and development
Richtech Robotics is based in Las Vegas and listed on NASDAQ under the symbol RR, which makes it one of the few service-robot makers in our overview with the formal status of a public company. The founding year and headcount are not confirmed, so we give no historical dates. The firm says it has deployed more than 450 robots and holds at least 11 patents. These are the manufacturer's own figures. Its business covers service robots working where customers come for a drink, food or service: in food service, retail and car showrooms. Such a profile differs from makers of humanoids for industry. Here speed of service, looks and whether the machine inspires trust in guests matter more than payload. Public-company status also affects communication, because the firm must report results regularly, which gives investors more public information than at private startups. We describe the whole background of this segment in “Service Robots in Restaurants and Hotels”, and the terms are collected in “Robotics Glossary: 65 Terms with Polish Equivalents”. The general working principle of humanoid machines is explained in “How Does a Humanoid Robot Work”.
Portfolio
The best-known product is the Richtech ADAM, a humanoid barista for preparing drinks and coffee, deployed among other places at NVIDIA's headquarters and in Walmart stores. The robot weighs 50 kg, has arms with six degrees of freedom (DOF) and a payload of 5 kg. We write more about these parameters in “Degrees of Freedom (DOF) in Humanoid Robots”. The manufacturer gives no public specification or price list, so the price and the cost of renting remain unknown. The range also includes the Scorpion and Titan models, the latter working in the Mercedes-Benz of Plano showroom. It should not be confused with the Titan robot from RoboForce, which is a separate product, described under RoboForce. Typical places of work for Richtech machines are a restaurant and retail, and more broadly also a hotel. The class of devices is covered by the category “Service robots”. Before buying you need to ask about service terms and integration with an existing station.
Market position
In the food-service segment Richtech competes with Pudu Robotics, Keenon Robotics and Bear Robotics, companies with widely deployed delivery and cleaning robots such as the PuduBot 2 or the Bear Robotics Servi. Richtech leans more on its public-company status and references at big brands than on a distribution network. That is a different model from rivals who sell large numbers of simple waiter robots. Its assets are high-profile deployments, its weaknesses the lack of public specifications, prices and information on a commercial presence in Europe. A comparison with competitors is also hampered by the absence of sales volume data beyond the claim of 450 robots. For that reason we describe the firm's position cautiously: a distinctive reference player, but not a leader in scale. A wider overview of solutions for the hospitality industry is in “Service Robots in Restaurants and Hotels”.
Presence in Poland
There is no information about Richtech Robotics having a commercial presence in Poland or Europe: we know of no distributor, no offer for Polish customers and no deployment in our country. A Polish restaurant or retail chain interested in such a robot would most likely have to negotiate directly with the manufacturer, allowing for duty, servicing and support. We write more about how to approach such purchases in “Humanoid Robot TCO: How to Calculate Total Cost”. On the domestic market robots from Asian firms are easier to find today.
Editorial verdict
Richtech is an interesting example of a listed company with high-profile references, but with no public price and no presence in Poland. For a Polish venue it is for now something to watch. Before deciding, compare it with Pudu Robotics and work out the costs in a TCO calculation. The biggest plus is the references at big brands, the biggest minus the lack of a price list, specification and service in Europe. Until an offer for Polish customers appears, treat Richtech as a market curiosity, not a real purchasing option.
