ALLEX
The hand and the actuators are what set ALLEX apart, more than its silhouette. Korean company WIRobotics, otherwise known for the WIM wearable robot, first showed it in August 2025 and again at CES 2026. The machine has 48 degrees of freedom overall.

The hand and the actuators are what set ALLEX apart, more than its silhouette. Korean company WIRobotics, otherwise known for the WIM wearable robot, first showed it in August 2025 and again at CES 2026. The machine has 48 degrees of freedom overall.
Its human-sized hand contains 20 joints, 15 of them actively driven; the fingertip repeats positions to 0.5 mm and presses with at least 40 N. Seven actuators drive each arm and six more in the forearm move the hand; an arm including the hand weighs roughly 9 kg, with about 5 kg below the shoulder. Stable manipulation is rated at 3 kg, while a hook grip lets one arm lift more than 30 kg.
Waist and neck each have 2 degrees of freedom with passive gravity compensation. The in-house actuators with maxon motors have, according to the maker, one tenth the friction and one twenty-fourth the inertia of typical commercial drives, are back-drivable and allow force and stiffness control; force sensing starts at around 100 gf.
Real-time control runs at 20 kHz over EtherCAT, and whole-body compliance is meant to make contact with people safe. Height, total weight, finger count and the lower body are not published, so the body type remains open. In January 2026 the company said the robot was not yet ready for everyday use and that partnerships were planned. Price on request.
A different route to dexterous hands, via third-party components, is taken by H2 Plus.
