AI Sapiens K1

The AI Sapiens K1 is a bipedal research humanoid attributed to ROBOTIS, the Korean maker of DYNAMIXEL servos and the TurtleBot platform. The designation K1, however, appears in a single third-party listing only; on the manufacturer's own pages the AI Sapiens line consists solely of the K0, and no official K1 page exists.

The name may reflect a later rebranding or a mix-up with another maker's K1, the Booster K1. All figures circulating for the K1, among them 1.36 m, 35 kg and 23 joints, therefore remain unconfirmed and are left out of our catalog.

The same unverified sources describe DYNAMIXEL-Q quasi-direct-drive actuators and a ROS 2 software base; what is certain is that ROBOTIS develops the AI Sapiens line as open hardware with open software. The purpose is physical-AI research and sim-to-real transfer at universities and schools. Status is prototype and price on request; sensors, computer, runtime and customers cannot be stated reliably at present.
