China's PNDbotics develops the Adam family of humanoids: the entry-level Adam Lite, the base Adam, the industrial Adam SP and the top-end Adam Pro. The design hallmark is its in-house PSA actuators (quasi-direct-drive), which compete with the solutions used by Unitree and Fourier Intelligence in the same mid-range segment of Chinese humanoids.

Prices start at about USD 100,000 for the base versions and reach several hundred thousand dollars for Pro configurations. That is high for the segment and suggests positioning closer to industrial customers than to researchers. The founding year, headcount and sources of funding are not confirmed, and the manufacturer names no distributor or point of sale in Poland.

The offer is of most interest to integrators following China's industrial humanoid market, and less to customers looking for a ready-made deployment in Europe.

History and development

PNDbotics is a Chinese company about which we can say little beyond what its products show. The founding year, headcount, sources of funding and headquarters are not confirmed; the manufacturer does not disclose them, and for this company only a handful of secondary sources are available, among them a third-party aggregator and a general entry on humanoid robots. There is therefore no reliable chronicle, and inventing one would be unfair to the reader. What is documented concerns the Adam family of humanoids: from the entry-level Adam Lite, through the base Adam, to the industrial Adam SP and the top-end Adam Pro. The common denominator is in-house PSA actuators based on quasi-direct-drive technology; the company uses reinforcement learning to teach balance and imitation learning for tasks. That approach is standard in the industry today and is described in “VLA Models: How AI Controls Humanoid Robots in 2026”. Actuators are covered in “Actuators in Humanoid Robots”. So instead of a company history, we describe its hardware, the only layer that can be checked today. Note that information on the Adam Pro is fragmentary in the sources, so we do not describe it separately; all we know is that the family includes this most expensive variant, priced at several hundred thousand dollars.

Portfolio

Three variants are listed. PNDbotics Adam is the base model; a third-party aggregator gives a price of USD 100,000 to 115,000 but does not specify the variant, and the manufacturer publishes neither dimensions nor weight. PNDbotics Adam Lite stands 160 cm tall, weighs 60 kg and has 25 QDD actuators with up to 340 N·m of torque in the legs; it costs USD 120,000, walks at up to 6 km/h and runs for about 3 hours. It is therefore more expensive than the base Adam despite its lower weight. PNDbotics Adam SP is the most extensively equipped: 167 cm, 62 kg, 41 degrees of freedom, actuator torque up to 360 N·m, five-fingered hands suited to tools and a payload of about 5 kg, at USD 100,000, with up to 6 km/h and about 2 hours of operation. The manufacturer does not state a perception system. All belong to humanoid robots. For all three variants the business model is not described and the specifications vary in level of detail, so direct comparison can be uncertain. The SP is the only one of the three for which sources mention five-fingered hands and a degrees-of-freedom count, which makes it the best candidate for comparison with competitors. The Adam Lite, meanwhile, costs USD 120,000 against USD 100,000 for the SP, despite having fewer degrees of freedom.

Market position

PNDbotics plays in the mid-range of Chinese humanoids, the same one as Unitree Robotics and Fourier Intelligence, but with prices starting at around USD 100,000 and reaching several hundred thousand for Pro configurations. That is high for the segment and suggests positioning closer to industrial than research customers, although no deployment data exists. Competitors offer clearly cheaper platforms: the Unitree G1 starts at about USD 16,000. PNDbotics' differentiator is its own actuator design, and its weakness is the lack of transparent datasheets, named customers and funding information. The real costs of such purchases are covered in “How Much Does a Humanoid Robot Cost in 2026”, and how to calculate total cost of ownership in “Humanoid Robot TCO: How to Calculate Total Cost”. It also matters that the base Adam and the SP version carry an identical price, which makes it hard to judge exactly what one is paying for. For an integrator this is a warning that assessing technical risk requires one's own testing.

Presence in Poland

PNDbotics is not present in Poland: the manufacturer names no distributor or point of sale, and all three models are listed as unavailable in the country. We found no Polish deployments and no universities using these robots. The offer is of most interest to integrators following China's industrial humanoid market, and less to customers seeking a ready-made deployment in Europe. For universities looking for humanoids for research, a more practical starting point is described in “Universities and research”. If the company ever appears in Europe, we will update this profile. Nobody declares service support in the country either.

Editorial verdict

PNDbotics has interesting actuators and a broad Adam family, but prices from USD 100,000, missing documentation and zero presence in Poland give no basis for a recommendation. Treat it as a name to watch on the map of Chinese humanoids. Rather than buying, it makes sense to survey the market and compare prices with competitors. A next step would be to ask the manufacturer for documentation, references and service terms. Also check whether the price includes support.
