Noble Machines spent its first two years as Under Control Robotics before stepping out of stealth in March 2026 with a general-purpose biped. The Sunnyvale team was founded in 2024 by engineers from Apple, SpaceX, NASA and Caltech, with Wei Ding as CEO. Press reports put the robot's weight at about 70 kg.
Payload is where sources diverge: the company lists 23 kg (50 lb), while The Robot Report wrote 27 kg (60 lb). Walking speed is 0.8 m/s, roughly 2.9 km/h, and a charge lasts 5 hours. An Orbbec Gemini 336L stereo depth camera handles perception. Whole-body AI control lets the robot pick up new tasks from spoken instructions, demonstrations and gestures, and its end effectors are modular.
Target settings include manufacturing, logistics, construction, energy and semiconductor plants, with slopes and outdoor ground explicitly covered. The first units went to an unnamed Fortune Global 500 customer in March 2026, and a next generation has been announced. Height and joint count are not published, and the company website does not even use the name Moby, which secondary sources also render as Moby 3.
