Isaac GR00T Reference Humanoid Robot
Rather than a robot built from scratch, the Isaac GR00T Reference Humanoid that NVIDIA announced at GTC Taipei on 1 June 2026 is a curated research configuration: a Unitree H2 Plus biped body, two tactile five-finger Sharpa Wave hands with 22 degrees of freedom each, and an NVIDIA Jetson AGX Thor T5000 module (Blackwell architecture, 2,070 FP4 TFLOPS, 14 Arm cores, 128 GB memory, 40 to 130 W).

The combination yields 75 degrees of freedom, 31 in the body plus 44 in the hands, at nearly 6 feet (about 180 cm) and 150 lb (68 kg). Each arm is rated for 7 kg with a 15 kg peak; arm joints deliver up to 120 Nm and leg joints up to 360 Nm. A 15 Ah pack holding 0.972 kWh runs for roughly 3 hours.
Sensing includes a head stereo camera with a 140 by 102 degree field, wrist cameras, an IMU, a microphone array and a speaker, plus a remote emergency stop. The software is the open Isaac GR00T stack with GR00T N vision-language-action models, Isaac ROS and reference workflows. Launch partners are Ai2, ETH Zurich, the Stanford Robotics Center, UC San Diego's ARCLab and NVIDIA Research.
Unitree sells the platform from late 2026; price on request. The underlying body is listed as H2 Plus.
