In the range from Keenon Robotics, two robots for serving food stand side by side: the Keenon DinerBot T8 and the Keenon DinerBot T5. At first glance they belong to the same family — the same restaurant tasks, the same brand, a similar look. Hotel managers wonder too, since for them the number of trays and the runtime on one battery matter (restaurants). Below we set the two robots side by side in numbers and show where the price discrepancies come from, which this class has no shortage of. The context of the whole segment is described in “Service Robots in Restaurants and Hotels”.

Design and specifications

The T8 is 111 cm tall (body 384×468×1111 mm), weighs 34 kg and travels at up to 1.0 m/s. It carries dishes on three trays with a combined payload of 20 kg, has a 10.1-inch touchscreen and, according to the maker, fits through a corridor from 55 cm wide. Navigation relies on triple stereo vision. The battery lasts “up to 15 hours”; older commercial offers stated 9–12 hours.

The T5 is heavier at 55 kg, which is 21 kg more, and faster at 1.2 m/s. Payload is also 20 kg, but spread over four trays. A 48 V/12 Ah battery (576 Wh) gives 12 hours of work, and up to 15 according to one seller. The robot has a dedicated mapping system for unattended operation, detects moving objects and protects itself against collisions. The height and dimensions of the T5 are not stated in the material available. The difference between “up to 15 hours” and “hours under full load” is therefore worth clarifying with the seller before you sign the order (“How to Read a Robot Datasheet”).

Price and availability in Poland

Abroad, the T8 comes out cheaper. In July 2026 US sellers listed the T8 at USD 5,500–11,000 depending on configuration; we took USD 7,000 (about PLN 27,130 (≈ EUR 6,220) at the rate of 3.8762 on 1 October 2026). Dentrealstore prices the T5 at USD 10,000 (about PLN 38,800 (≈ EUR 8,890)), which is 43 percent more than the T8.

In Poland both models are stocked by NetVet (Wrocław) and Edikson (Gdańsk). NetVet lists the T8 at PLN 55,348.77 (≈ EUR 12,680) and the T5 at PLN 61,498.77 (≈ EUR 14,090), so here the T5 is about 11 percent dearer. Take off 23 percent VAT and the two amounts come to exactly PLN 44,999 (≈ EUR 10,310) and PLN 49,999 (≈ EUR 11,460), which suggests the shop shows gross prices. Edikson prices the T5 at PLN 35,900 (≈ EUR 8,230) (without saying whether net or gross) and gives no price for the T8 robot itself. The nominal spread between Polish offers for the T5 therefore exceeds PLN 25,000 (≈ EUR 5,730); always ask for the net price, the scope of delivery and service. We calculate total cost as in “Humanoid Robot TCO: How to Calculate Total Cost”.

Which model for which job

The smaller, lighter T8 is sensible in a restaurant with narrow passages and a moderate number of tables (restaurants): the maker states a minimum passage width of 55 cm, and up to 15 hours covers a whole shift. The T5, with four trays and a speed of 1.2 m/s, makes sense in a large dining room, a hotel restaurant or at banquets (hotels), where the number of plates per run counts. Alternatives are the Pudu BellaBot with four trays and 40 kg, the Bear Robotics Servi at a lower price, or the lighter Pudu KettyBot Pro. The whole segment is covered in the category “Service robots”.

Conclusion

The T8 and T5 are sister models from the same manufacturer, differing mainly in price and sensing details. The T8 costs from USD 7,000 (about PLN 27,130 (≈ EUR 6,220)), the T5 clearly more at USD 10,000 (about PLN 38,800 (≈ EUR 8,890)) according to the US reseller Dentrealstore. The T8 has documented figures: 111 cm tall, 34 kg, a 20 kg payload, a speed of 1.0 m/s and a runtime of up to 15 hours. For the T5 the catalog gives a weight of 55 kg, a 20 kg payload on four trays, a speed of 1.2 m/s and a 12-hour runtime, but no height. The T8 uses a triple stereo-vision system for navigation, while the T5 is described as having motion detection and collision protection, without technical detail. For a venue that wants full spec transparency before buying, the T8 is better documented; choosing between them, however, requires contacting a distributor directly.

For a venue with tight passages and fixed opening hours, the T8 is better: it is lighter, has a more fully described specification and a longer battery. For a large dining room, banquets and hotels the T5 has the edge: four trays and higher speed. Anyone buying in Poland should compare the NetVet and Edikson offers and ask about warranty, the language of operation and spare parts. It is worth asking for a demonstration visit at your venue, because for the T8 the maker documents a minimum passage width, while for the T5 we know none. The comparison rests on data from the manufacturer and sellers, not on our own tests.
