Summary

The label Optimus V2.5 stands for an interim stage of Tesla's humanoid between Gen 2 and the still unreleased Gen 3. It is fair to say that Tesla itself does not use this name and has published no data sheet for it; in December 2025 people around the company spoke of an Optimus v2.3 shown in London and Berlin.

What is known from this transitional generation is mainly the five-finger hand with 22 degrees of freedom, reported since 2024 and destined for Gen 3. On the earnings call of 22 April 2026 Elon Musk confirmed that Gen 3 had not yet been unveiled and would appear close to the start of production; Tesla's Q1 2026 update describes a Fremont line being built for one million units a year.

Height, weight, whole-body degrees of freedom, speed and runtime for a V2.5 are not stated anywhere by Tesla, and figures found in outside databases have no Tesla source. Price on request; the company is not selling the robot. Read this entry together with Tesla Optimus Gen 2 and Tesla Optimus Gen 3, because the lines between these versions are drawn by the press rather than by the maker.
