A small flat, different priorities
In a flat of a few dozen square metres a robot finishes quickly, so runtime and multi-floor maps matter less. Four questions become more important: will the robot fit under the bed and sofa, where will the station go, how loud is it through the wall, and is a big station worth paying for at all.
We answer them with figures from our catalogue robot vacuums. Prices were checked on 10 October 2026. General buying criteria are covered in our guide “How to Choose a Robot Vacuum”.
Height: measure the clearance first
In a studio flat the bed, sofa and chest of drawers cover a large part of the floor, and most dust gathers beneath them. Measure the clearance under your lowest piece of furniture and leave a few millimetres to spare.
Most robots carry a LiDAR turret on top, which adds height. The lowest designs solve this differently. The Roborock Saros 10R, the Roborock Saros 20 and the ECOVACS DEEBOT T50 PRO OMNI have the sensor built into the body. The Dreame X50 Ultra Complete and the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum 5 Pro and 6 Max lower their turret in front of low furniture. For these three we give the height with the sensor lowered (asterisk in the table). Xiaomi says the 6 Max can enter gaps from 9.3 cm.
| Model | Height | Price (10 Oct 2026) | Station |
|---|---|---|---|
| iRobot Roomba 115 Combo | 7.89 cm | PLN 549 (≈ EUR 125) | charging dock |
| Roborock Saros 10R | 7.98 cm | PLN 2,699 (≈ EUR 620) | full |
| Roborock Saros 20 | 7.98 cm | PLN 3,459 (≈ EUR 795) | full |
| ECOVACS DEEBOT T50 PRO OMNI | 8.1 cm | PLN 1,699 (≈ EUR 390) | full |
| iRobot Roomba Plus 415 Combo | 8.35 cm | PLN 1,249 (≈ EUR 285) | full |
| iRobot Roomba Plus 575 Combo | 8.35 cm | PLN 1,699 (≈ EUR 390) | full |
| Xiaomi Robot Vacuum 5 Pro | 8.8 cm* | PLN 2,899 (≈ EUR 665) | full |
| Dreame X50 Ultra Complete | 8.9 cm* | PLN 3,299 (≈ EUR 755) | full |
| Xiaomi Robot Vacuum 6 Max | 9 cm* | PLN 4,699 (≈ EUR 1,080) | full |
| Xiaomi Robot Vacuum H50 Pro | 9.3 cm | PLN 1,999 (≈ EUR 460) | full |
| Roborock Qrevo S Pro | 9.65 cm | PLN 2,099 (≈ EUR 480) | full |
| Dreame D20 Pro | 9.69 cm | PLN 849 (≈ EUR 195) | charging dock |
| Xiaomi Robot Vacuum S40C | 9.7 cm | PLN 679 (≈ EUR 155) | charging dock |
| Dreame L40 Ultra AE | 9.7 cm | PLN 1,499 (≈ EUR 345) | full |
"Full" means a station that empties the bin and washes the mops. The other models in our catalogue range from 9.7 cm (Philips Aqua 7000) to 11.5 cm (eufy Omni C28). For the ECOVACS DEEBOT T30C Gen 2 and Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 3 the manufacturer does not state the height.
The Roborock Saros Z70 is also 7.98 cm tall, but it is a robot with an arm for picking up small objects. In x-kom's listing of 9 October 2026 it cost PLN 7,299 (≈ EUR 1,670), so we do not treat it as a studio-flat option.
Station: how much space it really takes
A robot with a plain charging dock needs a stretch of wall and some free floor in front of it. A full station is a small piece of furniture with clean and dirty water tanks that you need to reach from the top or front. In our catalogue we have station dimensions only for the ECOVACS DEEBOT mini: 38.5 cm tall, paired with a robot just 28.6 cm wide that fits between chair legs.
For other models, check the station dimensions in the datasheet and measure the spot in the hallway or under a window before ordering. For the Roborock Qrevo S Pro we note that the station needs a fair amount of wall space, and the eufy Omni E28 and iRobot Roomba Max 775 Combo also have large stations.
Noise: the robot and the station are two different numbers
In a block of flats noise matters, because the robot often runs when nobody is home and the neighbour is behind the wall. Manufacturers do not always publish it, and when they do it is in different modes, so compare carefully.
| Model | Robot | Station emptying |
|---|---|---|
| ECOVACS DEEBOT mini | 55 dB (vacuuming) | 70 dB |
| Roborock Saros 10R | 55 dB (quiet mop mode) | not stated |
| Xiaomi Robot Vacuum H50 Pro | 57 dB(A) (mop only) | not stated |
| Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 3 | 60 dB | not stated |
| ECOVACS DEEBOT X12 OmniCyclone | 61.1 dB (vacuuming) | 75.3 dB |
| ECOVACS DEEBOT T50 PRO OMNI | 63 dB (standard mode) | not stated |
| ECOVACS DEEBOT X9 PRO OMNI | 64.5 dB (vacuuming) | 79.2 dB |
The loudest moment is the station emptying the robot. If you live in a block of flats, schedule cleaning for hours when nobody is asleep. iRobot, eufy and Xiaomi (for the cheaper S40 and S40C) do not publish noise levels.
Is a big station worth it in a studio flat?
Not always. On a small floor area the robot's own bin lasts longer and emptying it takes a moment. A robot with a charging dock also takes up the least space. A full station makes sense if:
- you mop often and do not want to wash pads by hand (more in “Robot Vacuum Mop Types Explained”),
- you have a dog or cat, because hair fills a small bin quickly, as we explain in “Robot Vacuum for Pet Hair”,
- you do not want to handle dust every day.
The price gap can be smaller than you think. The ECOVACS DEEBOT T30C Gen 2 with a full station cost PLN 1,049 (≈ EUR 240) (promotion until 31 October 2026, regular price PLN 2,149 (≈ EUR 490)), while the Roborock Q7 M5 with a charging dock only cost PLN 599 (≈ EUR 135). In between are stations that only empty the bin: the iRobot Roomba 105 Combo + AutoEmpty for PLN 929 (≈ EUR 215) and the Roborock Q10 S5+ for PLN 1,099 (≈ EUR 250). Neither washes the mop.

Some of these are manufacturers' promotional prices. More models in this budget are compared in “Robot Vacuums Under PLN 2,000”.
What else to watch for
- Thresholds. The DEEBOT mini only climbs thresholds up to 17 mm. Check the step into the bathroom and onto the balcony.
- Flat mop on rugs. The pad on the cheapest models does not lift, so rugs have to be excluded in the app or rolled up.
- Runtime. A short runtime is no problem in a small flat. MediaMarkt lists up to 1.5 hours for the Roomba Plus 415 Combo.
- Tall robots. The Narwal Freo Z10 Ultra (10.96 cm), eufy Omni E28 (11.1 cm) and Omni C28 (11.5 cm) will not fit under low furniture. The E28 also has a large station.
- Clutter in tight spaces. In a small flat cables, bowls and a drying rack stand close together. Budget robots with LiDAR alone do not recognise small objects. No-go zones in the app help; Xiaomi describes them for the S40C and Roborock for the Q7 M5.
Choosing in three steps
First, measure the clearance under the bed and sofa. It narrows the choice most, because the tallest robots in our catalogue are several centimetres taller than the lowest. Next, decide where the station will go: if there is no free stretch of wall in the hallway, stick with a plain charging dock or the compact DEEBOT mini station. Finally, decide whether the robot should mop. In a studio with panels and one rug, a flat pad you wash by hand is enough. If you mop daily, a washing station saves the most work.
For a studio flat with a low bed, a low robot with a compact station or a plain charging dock fits best. On a small budget, the Roomba 115 Combo or Roborock Q7 M5 is a sensible start. If you want full automation without rinsing mops by hand, the cheapest full stations come with the DEEBOT mini and DEEBOT T30C Gen 2. Other uses for robots at home are covered in “Home”.
Frequently asked questions
Which robot vacuum is the lowest?
In our catalogue the lowest is the iRobot Roomba 115 Combo at 7.89 cm (PLN 549 (≈ EUR 125) at MediaMarkt, 10 October 2026). Close behind are the Roborock Saros 10R and Saros 20 (7.98 cm each) and the ECOVACS DEEBOT T50 PRO OMNI (8.1 cm). Measure the clearance under your lowest piece of furniture before buying.
Does a studio flat need a station that washes the mops?
Not always. On a small floor area the robot's own bin lasts longer, and a robot with just a charging dock takes up the least space. A full station makes sense if you mop often, have a pet or do not want to handle dust every day. In our catalogue the cheapest full stations come with the ECOVACS DEEBOT mini and DEEBOT T30C Gen 2 (PLN 1,049 (≈ EUR 240) each on promotion).
How loud is a robot vacuum?
Where manufacturers publish noise levels, the robots in our catalogue are rated from 55 to 64.5 dB, measured in different modes. The loudest part is the station emptying the robot: ECOVACS lists 70 dB for the DEEBOT mini and 79.2 dB for the DEEBOT X9 PRO OMNI. Many manufacturers, including iRobot, do not publish noise at all.
How much space does a docking station take?
It depends on the model, so check the station dimensions in the datasheet. In our catalogue we have them for the ECOVACS DEEBOT mini: its station is 38.5 cm tall. Full stations that wash mops are usually considerably larger than a plain charging dock.
Which budget robot suits a small flat?
At prices checked on 10 October 2026 the cheapest are the iRobot Roomba 115 Combo (PLN 549 (≈ EUR 125), 7.89 cm), the Roborock Q7 M5 (PLN 599 (≈ EUR 135)) and the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum S40C (PLN 679 (≈ EUR 155)). All three have only a charging dock and a flat mop pad, so the bin is emptied by hand.
