At the first World Humanoid Robot Games in Beijing (15 to 17 August 2025, 280 teams) every kickboxing robot in the eight-metre ring was a Unitree G1 (132 cm, 35 kg, about two hours of battery life), driven by human operators including former national volleyball player Xue Ming.
According to baiguan.news, the only source for the result, the final was won by ‘Olympic Team 1’, a squad of former athletes with Xue Ming at the controls; university teams such as USTB and Wuhan University also competed.
The second Games (22 to 26 August 2026, 666 teams, 2,056 robots) promoted free combat to a core event: 53 developer teams in 40, 58 and 80 kg classes, three two-minute rounds, control by motion-capture suit or fully autonomous via onboard camera.
The 2026 scoring awarded one point for hits to head, torso or thigh, three for foot techniques and six for a knockdown; failing to rise within ten seconds counted as a round knockout, and the winner was decided on total points. Entrants included Beijing Police College, Beijing Jiaotong University and AgiBot teams; Xinhua reported a 58 kg quarter-final and the 80 kg third-place match.
Which robot models fought in 2026 is not documented, and the class winners have not been published. The stock G1 lists at 13,500 USD. Compared with AI Strategist, the Games allow autonomous control.
