Summary

Built for 2.5 million USD by the Californian start-up MegaBots, Eagle Prime (MegaBots Mk.III) is a two-seat hydraulic fighting mech 16 ft (488 cm) tall and weighing 12 short tons (10,886 kg). A 430 hp petrol engine powers a hydraulic system with roughly 300 hoses and 26 high-speed valves, and two pilots sit in the cockpit.

Armament included a cannon firing 3 lb projectiles at more than 130 mph, grabbing and striking arms, and a chainsaw used in the duel. On 17 October 2017 Eagle Prime beat Japan’s Kuratas in two rounds in the ‘Giant Robot Duel’ streamed on Twitch; Wikipedia describes the bout as scripted.

The giant-robot league MegaBots hoped to launch never materialised: the company ran out of money in 2019, its assets were liquidated and the mech was sold on eBay for 29,900 USD, a fraction of its build cost. Only one was built; its predecessor was the Mk.II ‘Iron Glory’ of 2015. The project is discontinued and the robot no longer competes.
