Summary

A live demonstration on 19 December 2025 put TARS Robotics on the map: its T-series humanoid threaded a needle and embroidered a logo with both hands, autonomously, in front of an audience. The Chinese embodied-AI company behind it was founded on 5 February 2025 under CEO Dr. Chen Yilun and quickly raised an angel round of USD 120 million followed by an angel-plus round of USD 122 million.

The stated engineering goal is wiring-harness assembly, a task that demands the same fine finger control as embroidery. On the software side the company names its TARS AWE 2.0 world engine and the SenseHub data-collection system.

Physical specifications have not been published at all: height, weight, degrees of freedom, actuation, sensors and runtime are unknown, and the corporate website is under construction. The press release refers only to T-series and A-series platforms; at ICRA in June 2026 the company additionally showed a 21-DoF TARS DexHand and a whole-body model called A1. Price on request.

The catalogue holds other Chinese platforms that lead with AI models rather than hardware sheets, for instance Galbot G1.
