The robot stands 5 feet, or 152 cm, weighs 75 pounds, or 34 kg, and has 23 degrees of freedom. It runs at up to 3 m/s, and the 48 V battery lasts 2 to 5 hours with a one-hour charge. Sensors, onboard computer, payload and hand type are not listed on the company site and are therefore left out here. The Astra is intended for universities and R&D teams working on motion control and sim-to-real transfer.
The company also offers the StarBot Nova platform. In weight, joint count and running speed the Astra almost exactly matches the Chinese kit ROBOTO Origin, but it is 27 cm taller and sold as a finished robot with a known dollar price.
