Summary

This entry covers not a product but a humanoid used by the Japanese general contractor Shimizu Corporation in field trials. In July 2026 Shimizu began full-scale development of AI robots for construction sites, naming Sony among its technical partners.

The robot patrols a preset route at 1.0 m/s on the Torch Tower site of the Tokiwabashi Project in Tokyo while holding a camera; the footage is then analysed by multimodal language models that look for deviations from the plan. Shimizu is not a robot maker, and the press release names neither the builder nor the model of the humanoid, so the name in our catalogue is only a working designation.

Height, weight, number of degrees of freedom, runtime, base type and sensors remain unknown; what is certain is the electric drive, the hand-held camera and the walking speed. In October 2026 Shimizu invested in the US start-up Noble Machines, but no link between that investment and this robot has been confirmed. Status is pilot and there is no price, since the robot is not for sale.

The Songxing is documented just as sparsely, though in that case the maker has at least confirmed the model exists.
