Launched on 10 January 2026, MATRIX-3 is Matrix Robotics' next-generation humanoid and the successor to the MATRIX-1. The headline changes are in the drivetrain: integrated linear actuators replace rotary units in the drive core, and the five-finger hand is cable-driven with 27 degrees of freedom; at WAIC 2026 in Shanghai it was shown under the name Lingxi.
Reports from that show put the robot at roughly 170 cm and 65 kg with about 4 hours of continuous operation per charge. The maker speaks of generalising neural models that handle new tasks zero-shot. Total joint count, carrying capacity, speed and sensors have not been disclosed.
Access is through an early-access programme for selected industrial partners, with first pilot deployments expected from mid-2026, which is why the status is prototype. Production plans quoted at WAIC are 5,000 units in 2026 and 10,000 in 2027. Price on request. The company website names no headquarters. In hand complexity the MATRIX-3 goes beyond most catalogue humanoids, including the Unitree H2.
