Humanoid robotsresearch platform

Lightbot 0 (LightBot-0)

Lightbot 0 is a compact research humanoid that Light Origins built for itself rather than for sale. The company, with sites in Beijing, Shenzhen and Singapore and no stated headquarters, used the robot as the test bed for Light-Loco-Parkour, a method described in a paper submitted on 1 August 2026: a single reinforcement-learning policy, obtained by distilling several skills, that handles walking, climbing, jumping and getting up after a fall.

Summary

Lightbot 0 is a compact research humanoid that Light Origins built for itself rather than for sale. The company, with sites in Beijing, Shenzhen and Singapore and no stated headquarters, used the robot as the test bed for Light-Loco-Parkour, a method described in a paper submitted on 1 August 2026: a single reinforcement-learning policy, obtained by distilling several skills, that handles walking, climbing, jumping and getting up after a fall.

The robot stands 90 cm tall, weighs 18.9 kg and has 21 actuated joints spread over legs, torso and arms. Perception comes from an Intel RealSense D435 depth camera in the chest, tilted 30 degrees downward, a six-axis inertial unit in the pelvis and joint encoders; there is no LiDAR and no motion capture. An NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano drawing 7 to 25 W and rated at 67 INT8 TOPS runs the policy at 50 Hz.

Light Origins also develops the Light-O1 foundation model and says a bipedal humanoid product is coming soon. The figures above come from the paper, since the product page shows nothing yet; there is no price. A commercial robot of similar size is the NIX.
