GAC GoMate (3. Generation)

An automaker's humanoid that rolls rather than walks: GAC Group of Guangzhou, developing robots since 2022, unveiled the third-generation GoMate on 26 December 2024 in Shanghai. Its wheel-leg hybrid has two modes, a stable four-wheel stance at about 1.4 m and an upright two-wheel stance reaching 1.75 m, which is the value used here. The body has 38 degrees of freedom and GAC's own joint motors.

Power comes from an all-solid-state battery for a claimed six hours, and GAC also claims more than 80 percent lower energy use; both figures are the maker's statements. Weight, payload and speed are not given. The software derives from GAC's autonomous-driving AI and handles navigation, localisation and autonomous decisions; vision and haptic systems are mentioned without detail.

The first and so far only customer is GAC itself, which uses the GoMate for inspection on its vehicle production lines, with security, health, aftermarket, logistics and education named as future fields. Pilots started in 2025 and small-volume production was announced for 2026; status is pilot, price on request.

The fourth generation is now developed by the spin-off Huilun Technology as the GoMate Mini.
