Taku takes its name from the Japanese takumi, a master craftsman, and the demonstration that defines it is an uncut one-hour hotel laundry workflow from September 2026: washing, drying, folding and shelving.
The semi-humanoid from Dyna Robotics in the United States is essentially a body for the company's physical agent Dyna-2.1, in which a vision-language model orchestrates tasks, the Dyna-2 world-action model issues commands at roughly 5 Hz and a reinforcement-learned whole-body controller runs at 100 Hz.
The upper body has 21 degrees of freedom, including two 7-DoF arms with low-reduction planetary actuators; the lower body folds and rides on four steerable wheels. Dyna describes the robot as sized like an average person but publishes no height, weight, lifting capacity or runtime. Sensing combines vision, tactile input and proprioception.
Beyond laundry the company has shown server maintenance and fetching drinks. Dyna calls Dyna-2.1 a research system and names customer sites as the next step, so the status is prototype; price on request. The intended market is hotels and hospitality. For a wheeled bimanual platform of similar layout but with a published data sheet, compare the Vega 1 Pro.
