Six motors in the hand give six active degrees of freedom, five passive ones make eleven; the thumb flexes 59 degrees with 90 degrees of auxiliary motion, the fingers flex 81 degrees, and positioning accuracy is 0.1 degree.
BrainCo sells three editions: Basic (codes XRL/XRR) with RS485 and CAN-FD at 12 to 28 V, Pro (XEL/XER) adding EtherCAT and 12 to 64 V, and Touch (XTL/XTR) with multi-dimensional fingertip tactile modules for pressure, friction, direction and proximity.
All editions sense position and current and include temperature and collision protection, with position, velocity and current control through a Python and C SDK plus ROS. The hand is offered as an option for Unitree humanoids, among them the Unitree G1, the Unitree H2 and the Unitree R1, and for research.
The reseller OpenELAB listed per-hand prices including customs of 5,029.99 USD for Basic, 6,199.99 USD for Pro and 8,539.99 USD for Touch in October 2026; Knox Labs quotes from 13,457.60 USD or on request. All figures come from resellers.
