Summary

The Tiangong Ultra (天工Ultra, Tiāngōng Ultra, sometimes written Tien Kung Ultra) is the competition variant of the open Tiangong platform developed by the Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center, better known as X-Humanoid.

Standing 1.80 m and weighing about 55 kg (Asia Times reported 52 kg), it became the first humanoid to complete a half marathon within the time limit: 2:40:42 at the Beijing E-Town race on 19 April 2025, with three battery swaps and one fall at kilometre 15, earning the Best Endurance award.

For that race the engineers built a lighter and stiffer frame, longer low-inertia legs, damping in soles and joints, thermal management for the actuators and a gait learned from human running data. In 2025 the robot followed a human pacer via UWB positioning; by 2026 it ran fully autonomously.

At the 2026 World Humanoid Robot Games the X-Humanoid teams took gold over 100 m (8.64 s), 400 m (38.15 s, below the human world record of 43.03 s), 1500 m (2:21.64), 4x100 m relay (2:20.79), 400 m obstacle (4:11.44), long jump (7.97 m) and standing high jump (3.40 m). Reports of 42 degrees of freedom come from Chinese media only.

No price has been published; CTO Tang Jian spoke of an entry-level car price once production scales. Unlike the commercially sold Unitree H1, the Ultra remains a pilot machine.
