Thrown through a window before anyone enters the room, the 1.5 kg TRM 2.0 is the smallest robot in the Łukasiewicz – PIAP range and in this catalogue section. PIAP unveiled the Tactical Thrown Robot at MSPO in Kielce in September 2016 as a reconnaissance tool for soldiers and police: a two-wheeled electric body rugged enough to survive the throw, carrying a camera with infrared illumination and a microphone.
Radio control works to about 100 m inside buildings and 350 m in the open. The robot is unarmed, has no armed variants and is sold on request; PIAP does not publish a full datasheet, so speed and endurance remain unstated. Its Polish user is the Military Gendarmerie (Żandarmeria Wojskowa), which has bought mobile robots and special equipment from PIAP.
In practice the TRM complements the larger platforms: a thrown micro-robot scouts the room, then a manipulator robot such as the roughly 48 kg PIAP GRYF or the 300 kg PIAP IBIS moves in. For short-range reconnaissance in direct contact with troops, the Polish Army has since ordered the man-portable Tarantula, 96 sets in 2025.
